Liverpool Midfielder Xabi Alonso Hands In Transfer Request - Report

The future of deep-lying playmaker Xabi Alonso appears to be away from Anfield, as a flurry of press reports published today indicate that the Liverpool midfielder has requested that he be made available for transfer, in order for his protracted move to Real Madrid to gather momentum, as per a report in The Times.

Alonso has been linked with a Merseyside exit since last summer, when Arsenal were rumoured to be making firm eleventh-hour advances only to be denied a swoop during the closure of the transfer window.

Yet Liverpool's perceived willingness to do business for the Spaniard is perhaps the catalyst that has convinced Alonso to part ways with a club with whom he has won major honours.

Next season all depends on who we bring in to replace Alonso now.

30stone 30-07-2009 01:53 PM

Ohhh you signed Cana, hes quality.

Surprised hes captain already though.

Yeah, but we needed a team overhaul. No one from our old team had enough passion to be captain, it's a risk but I think it'll pay off.

Plus he's hot.

arsenalforever 30-07-2009 02:03 PM

wenger is not going to sign anyone

goodbye arsenal winning honours and wenger will lose his job no doubt

he lacks ambition:sad:

30stone 30-07-2009 02:05 PM

ahhh dropped 2karma this morning.. :cloud:

And yes its looking vauge for us now.

he should spend the money on huntelaar and hangeland.
Then we would have a squat ready to challenge the title.

You can squat but you will not win the Premiership.

andyman 30-07-2009 02:26 PM

I say bye bye to Alonso, no pointing him being in the team if he wants to be another dumb Real Madrid slut.. Best we sell him ASAP!

yep but does he not see the fans will be on his back for not bringing in signings of the top quality as the squad is thin enough

wenger will be gone by december

andyman 30-07-2009 02:31 PM

Yep.. Arsenal need to change, the manager needs to be sacked for the change to start.

Jayson 30-07-2009 02:33 PM

I think we need a completely new squad style tbh, we buy too many youngsters, we have none of the invincibles left because we sold them all, and our average age in the team is about 11.

andyman 30-07-2009 02:33 PM

Gotta feel sorry for Newcastle Utd and Leeds Utd..

andyman 30-07-2009 02:36 PM

The Arsenal manager is stuck in the past! For the sake of the club he has to go..

As a Liverpool fan i should be loving Arsenal's downfall, but i am saying this not as a Liverpool fan, but as a football fan..

The problem is.

He does make great transfers.
He is an amazing manager, as far as quality of football is concered id say hes the best.

He just doesn't make big transfers spending the money.
