Man Utd, Arsenal target Chamakh: I could make Premier League move

Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has again declared he wants to play in the Premiership.

The 25-year-old's current contract with the French outfit expires in the summer, although he has been offered fresh terms to stay.

But the Morocco international, who has previously been linked with Manchester United, Arsenal, Sunderland and West Ham, is in no rush to make a decision.

While he could move on as a free agent in the summer, he also does not want to penalise the club where he received his footballing education.

He told L'Equipe: "My future? I don't know. It is up to me.

"At the club, the door is open. When I make my decision, I will reply yes or no. I am thinking about it at present.

"I just want to achieve a great season with Bordeaux, maybe (then) to sign (for a club) in the Premier League.

"However it would be fine (moving in January for a fee) so everyone could take advantage of the transfer."

Arsenal hot up £15m link with Germany's wizard of Özil
As the young Werder Bremen playmaker continues to light up the Bundesliga, it's no wonder Arsene Wenger is on the prowl.

According to Mesut Özil's agent, Arsenal have made an enquiry about the young German international. And on his current form, it's not hard to see why.

The 21 year-old has blossomed this year at Werder Bremen and last weekend's 6-0 demolition of Freiburg, in which he set up four goals and scored one himself, that confirmed Özil's status as the Bundesliga's best player this season.

It is only 18 months sinced Schalke shipped the want-away "greedy" playmaker out to their rivals for £4.3m. But now Bremen are rubbing their hands with glee at the prospect of a bidding war breaking out over the diminutive attacking midfielder.

YOBO KEEPS COOL IN MERSEY BOYS BATTLE

There may be serious doom and gloom on Merseyside about the state of football in the area but Everton defender Joseph Yobo says he can keep it all in perspective.

Liverpool were dumped out of the Champions League during the week and Everton's season continues to go from bad to worse after losing 3-2 to Hull City on Wednesday. But Toffees defender Yobo can see the bigger picture following his brother's horror kidnap last year.

Armed gunmen in Nigeria swooped on his younger brother Norum and held him for 12 days.

Yobo feared that Norum was dead so is now just relieved to have him alive and well.

And ahead of today's clash with Liverpool, that is earmarked as crucial for both clubs, Yobo claims that an experience like that helps keep the 90 minutes at Goodison Park in perspective.

He said: "At the end of the day it is just a game.

"What happened to my brother was a bad experience for me.

"It is not nice what is happening in Nigeria."

Team news for todays Barclays Premier League at Goodison Park sees Steven Pienaar fighting for his place in the Everton starting 11. Jack Rodwell is out of this match with Marouane Fellaini and Diniyar Bilyaletdinov both returning from suspension.

Liverpool are likely to be without Fernando Torres again this weekend. Fernando Torres is 3/1 along with Chelsea striker Didier Drogba to win this season Premier League Top Goalscorer award. Liverpool will also be without Ryan Babel , Philipp Degen and Riera.
