Been out all day and finding it hard to catch up with the news.
It's looking like a Con-Lib alliance is going to happen? Or do I have it wrong?

Spike 07-05-2010 02:32 PM

Dudley North - my constituency.
Surprised how close it was, its not really a Conservative seat. Also surprised that the BNP have dropped.

...Arista's been jumping for joy... but lets see how joyful he is when his direct payments stop!

Spike 07-05-2010 02:42 PM

This isn't a biased labour post

I would be shocked if Nick Clegg went for the Conservatives over Labour and if I was a Lib Dem supporter I wouldn't be happy. I can see why he is talking to the Conservatives first and fair enough given they won over Labour.

Surely the best thing for the Lib Dems is to go with Labour, get the electoral reform and this should work in their favour for every election in the future. There is so much more in common between Labour and the Lib Dems.

I think going with the Conservatives would be Nick Clegg's political downfall.

I will be forging a LT/Bottle of Grants pact tonight from 6.30pm

Last nights failed Whyte and Mackay coalition has resulted in a health deficit today

I may bring in the minority cans of Tennants (only 2 represented in the fridge) in order to hold sway over Mrs LT who has the overall majority.

No Spike David and Nick are now on Official Talks
and because the Conservatives have Nick on board
They will Do Deals
that will even shock you.

Brown Is Finished.

Utter Bliss.

arista 07-05-2010 03:38 PM

William Hague

just confirmed David and Nick have spoken to each other.

Soon Brown will have to go to the Queen and Resign.

Sophii3x 07-05-2010 03:50 PM

Labour won in my area as per usual, woo!

I feel completly sick at the thought of a Conservative/Lib Dems goverment, Lib Dem voters must be feeling gutted if it actually goes ahead. So wish it was going to be Labour-Lib Dems instead to keep the Torries out. So disappointed in Nick Clegg right now.

Sticks 07-05-2010 03:52 PM

Constitutionally Gordon Brown has every right to try and form a government first. David has to wait before he gets his dibs at it.

Has has Given Up His Right - Sticks
as he Lost the Election.

So Its not the same Sticks.
New Laws were Made
You are Not Aware or Up To Date Enough

Conservatives got the Most Votes.

Infact Conserv-LibDem Talks are going on Now.

Jack_ 07-05-2010 04:02 PM

Surprising results for Lib Dem, unfortunately, but at least Clegg has more of an influence now.

I'm not too bothered whether it goes Lib/Lab or Lib/Con really just as long as there's an electoral reform to proportional representation - which, if I know enough about, would mean that the Liberal Democrats stand a much more equal chance of winning, right?

Also, was David Dimbleby and his team on air all the way through till nearly 4PM today? I got home and was amazed that they were still on air.

Crimson Dynamo 07-05-2010 04:05 PM

Ukip's election was a plane crash

Yes they were - it's madness they suvived so long. Same for ITV's team although they had a little break. Bet their all shattered now.

Beastie 07-05-2010 04:19 PM

David Cameron and Nick Clegg are doing more than just discussing politics I bet.. I bet they end up having an affair!! shagging....... Nick Clegg is good looking and David Cameron is not too shabby ;)
