Today is a very special day for evictee Michael and his imaginary son Reuben. According to the elaborate story the ex-HM spun while posing as a father, today is Reuben's 9th birthday. We caught up with Michael to see how he's celebrating the little fellow's special day.

Since the ex-Insider left the House he's been busy with nightclub and shopping centre appearances, and he'll be returning to Dreamworld next week to meet and greet his fans over the school holidays. But with so much going on, Michael hasn't forgotten about Reuben's special day.

The dedicated dad says he'll be taking his imaginary son out for ice-cream cake tonight, and while he's at it he may as well enjoy some of the perks of fatherhood... "His mother left me and I'm still single," says Michael. "So I'm going to take him out and hopefully some young mothers will approach me and say: 'Look how cute he is!' and then I'll be able to take them out."

And as for a gift, lucky Reuben will be getting a Spiderman comic book signed by author Ian McFarlane. Apparently he's a big superhero fan and even has Spiderman sheets on his bed.

Once little Reuben has had his fill of cake and is all tucked up in his Spiderman sheets, Michael plans to hit the town tonight with his real-life, grown-up friend Reuben.

So how does the real Reuben feel about the use of his name in such an elaborate hoax? "He loves it," says Michael. "I was out with him the other night and he was like: "Hey! I'm Reuben!" He's become a cult figure."
