From Marr BBC1 Live.

German Police uncovered a car full of weapons
on the way to Paris.
But did not bother to tell Paris Police.

They need to work together more

I saw this elsewhere so I'm going to bring it up here.

The media may realize this but by putting the fear into non-Muslims that anyone could join ISIS only makes Muslims want to join ISIS. Because we, as a society, ostracize them because we associate ISIS with all Muslims.

I don't think that's true. I think that most people know someone who is a Muslim and who blows that theory completely. You've only got to look at the news to see Muslims standing in solidarity with the people of Paris. The way I see it is this: we have lots of refugees flooding in from Syria. If I was in charge of ISIS I'd make sure that as many of them as I could arrange would be ISIS terrorists. We've already seen that one of the terrorists from the Paris atrocity registered himself as a refugee last month in Greece and ended up being able to travel to France. How many more of them are here now? One in a thousand? One in a hundred? One in ten? It's for this reason that I think the UN has to coordinate the onward movement of refugees from their camps and make a priority of families with children.

I think the way it's being touted that one was found to have passed through Greece is allowing those who opposed refugees to feel justified.
It's going to fuel more animosity towards Syrian refugees.

Surely though, these people would have been checked for weapons before they would be allowed to cross borders. And assuming that was done correctly, they must have gotten their weapons from inside. So I wouldn't say it has much to do with refugees to be honest.

It's everything to do with refugees, Josh. Of course they didn't bring the guns in with them. They used the refugee crisis to get in themselves, no border controls... the terrorist in question just walked straight in and regrouped in Paris with his cell. People must be checked before they arrived. All refugees should have to go through processing by the UN. If they're allowed to continue to arrive unchecked, we're going to be letting more and more terrorist in with the genuine refugees. I'd like to see the UN make a priority of families with children because at the moment by far the largest group arriving are young men. It has to be controlled before another atrocity happens and people call for refugees to be turned away all together.

They don't feel justified, they are justified. You don't have to be a genius to know this was going to happen. Animosity would be controlled if the refugees are properly processed by the UN instead of just walking in.

Ninastar 15-11-2015 01:02 PM

once again Livia, beautifully said. as per xx

Ah well if you feel that the route took by this man ( as reported) condemns all refugees than that's fair enough.

You know how you're always saying I - or anyone else who's opinions differs from yours - has misquoted you? Go back and read what I said. I said there needed to be controls and the UN should be processing everyone to stop terrorist getting in. I never ONCE condemned refugees, in fact I believe controls like that would make it better for refugees. But you know that, don't you.

They couldn't pay me enough to do that job. And I'm not getting in to any more accidents just to gain popularity, it's too bloody painful...
