Toxic masculinity by its definition is poisonous. The interesting thing is, people who widely use the words ‘toxic masculinity’ are certain types of feminists and within the some LGBT communities.
The more radical sections of LGBT see sayings like ‘boys will be boys’ as a cultural crime. There’s no doubt that the undermining of men/boys for having the confidence to be men/boys, is a growing phenomenon.
It feels like we are going through a sexual revolution, and I believe this revolution could be harmful and certainly confusing for our children.
Drag Queen story time certainly hasn't done the LGBT's any favors.

Tbf man hating (which does feel like it's grown over the last few years) is imo more than any issues that anyone has with the LGBT community.

Imo I feel like Twitter for example has encouraged people to openly express man hating like it's a badge of honour.

But then Twitter's also the site that doesn't do anything about racism unless it's towards a Footballer, so they basically have minimal standards.

Twitter has hating going on to all demographics depending where you look. Horrible place

Every time someone (unironically) uses the phrase "toxic masculinity", there's at least one person who doesn't understand that the user isn't (necessarily) calling all masculinity toxic, but referring only to the type of masculinity which is toxic ... but if something has to be explained every time, it's not an effective use of words.

I actually disagree on that one, I don't think there's anything wrong with the phrase toxic masculinity when used as intended, I think the meaning is clear when used as intended, and I frankly think that 99% of the time when people feign offense and act like they believe it's saying "masculinity is toxic" they are being disingenuous for effect. "Playing dumb".

This is especially evident when it's been explained ten times over that "toxic" is being used as a category and not a universal descriptor, but those fighting the other line continue to pretend not to understand the difference.

I genuinely struggle to understand why people do it, because all it does is make them look thick as **** :umm2:.

Hating trans people so much that it makes you harass children and their parents and sports events.

Nothing says ‘protect the kids’ quite like grown adults demanding the invasion of their privacy and decency when they win races.

Unfortunately this is the paranoia that's bred from allowing such unfairness in women's and girls sports in the first place. Obviously no child should be "examined" that's disgusting but because of all this un-clarity around women & girls sports maybe children should have to bring their birth certificates for races

Justifying the harassment of children and their parents really isn’t a good look, but if that’s the hill you want to die on, good for you I guess.

But yes, let’s stick more unreasonable, unnecessary rules onto children who want to take part in sports because adults don’t like trans people and their inclusion in society, that seems like the only logical and reasonable reaction.

Yeah **** girls and their achievements and ambitions eh Liam? Trans kids can still participate in sports in the correct biological sex......you know - the whole reason for Sport segregation in the first place..........

It didn't seem like Niamh was defending those individuals' actions, but saying they're the result of boys being allowed to compete with girls in the first place.

Liam knows that perfectly well Oliver, accusing me of hating children is a much better read though eh?

Liam- 14-06-2023 10:56 AM

Where did I say you hated children? If you have an actual point you don’t need to make stuff up

You don't think fairness for women & girls in Sport is a good point? Yeah that shows.

Re me "making stuff up" you said I was justifying the harassment of children & "because adults don’t like trans people and their inclusion in society" presumably I'm one of those adults because I made that point you're talking about, how am I making stuff up?

Liam- 14-06-2023 11:06 AM

You said I accused you of hating children, which I very clearly did not, so yes, you made that up

Davidson last competed as a male golfer in 2015. Now winning in women's tournaments.

Although the top male golfers can typically hit the ball further than their female
counterparts, Davidson claims that the majority of criticism about her competing in the
women's circuit is transphobic in order to try and stop any criticism of the cheating

I notice as well you accuse me of making stuff up because i don't have an actual point while ignoring the actual point I've made.

So you weren't talking about me as one of those adults then when you said this?

"let’s stick more unreasonable, unnecessary rules onto children who want to take part in sports because adults don’t like trans people and their inclusion in society"

Liam- 14-06-2023 11:24 AM

That is indeed what I said, nowhere did I accuse you of hating or disliking children, as you’ve proved by posting what I said

So you don't think I dislike children then, is that what you're saying? just for clarity

Liam- 14-06-2023 11:31 AM

You want me to clarify that I don’t believe something that I never said? :joker:
