2 days of yellow Freezing Fog warning for Glasgow and its surrounds

Freezing fog has persisted all day for some, and will probably turn thicker this evening and
overnight, with some untreated surfaces becoming slippery. Once formed, it may well
persist well through Wednesday.

bitter

3 days in the freezer here with day temps around -1, -2C and night -5 C

Every tree, bush, srub and blade of grass white with hoar frost, cars like ice tombs and paths very slippy. Thick freezing fog.

It's been very mild up North where I am.

13c yesterday and 15c today. Could be 14c tomorrow too. Basically I have a sweater on and no heating and the sun is shining. :D

Amber warning England for snow!

https://weather.metoffice.gov.uk/war...c-ef95293912ad

Further detail
Snow will reach the south of the warning area later Saturday, then spread
north across the rest of the area through Sunday morning. Snow will be
persistent and heavy at times, and will likely drift in brisk easterly winds,
especially over higher ground.

Much of the warning area can expect 3-7 cm of snow. Areas above about 150
m will likely see 15-30 cm, with 40 cm for ground above 300 m, before snow
begins to ease and clear by the end of Sunday. For some lower-lying areas,
such as the Vale of York, snow may mix with rain at times making
estimations of snow depths here more difficult. Regardless, travel will likely
be difficult, with power line icing an additional impact.

arista 03-01-2025 12:19 PM

Yes Snow then Rain
in some zones

Possible Flooding

stormy weather over here in Eindhoven, Netherlands

very strong winds :(

as of tomorrow, getting colder again, towards 5C, chances of wet snow

the snow won't stick to the ground because it'll remain between 3 and 5 degrees celsius above zero, only on saturday night there is chance of ice, with -2C but during the day again going above +3C

so there are more warnings for those who have to travel by car at night
