Watching arsenal game..want to see Wilshere play

30stone 10-12-2009 12:03 AM

Arsenal were dissapointing.

Landan Donovan is quality. - bought him on football manager with reading (when in pl) and he was my best player..

As for owen, still unsure about his goal scoring needs to be playing more..

Joseph Yobo will be out of action for Everton and Nigeria until the end of the year because of injury.

The 29-year-old pulled a hamstring during his club's 2-2 draw with Tottenham on Sunday.

It means he will be out until Christmas but he is hoping to still be fit for the Nations Cup in Angola next month.

"A scan carried out showed that it was a familiar hamstring injury [and] that I should rest until the end of the year," Yobo told BBC Sport on Thursday.

"They (doctors) anticipate that I should be fully back at the end of December.

"Unfortunately that will cost me a chance to help out my club at this demanding and crucial stage of the season."

Yobo was substituted after only 15 minutes during the Premier League game on Sunday.

"Everton means a lot to me because it is my second family but my thoughts and prayers will be with the team while I recover," he added.

"Hopefully I will return a better and fitter player at the beginning of 2010, a special year for Nigeria football.

"The physiotherapists have got a grip of the situation and the method of perfect recovery and that is the path we are taking at the moment."

Nigeria coach Shaibu Amodu has already lost striker Ikechukwu Uche to injury for Angola.

Obafemi Martins, Seyi Olofinjana, Danny Shittu and Yusuf Muhammed are all in a race to be fit for the Cup of Nations, which kicks off on 10 January.

Nigeria will face defending champions Egypt, Mozambique and Benin in the group phase of the biennial tournament.

Everton chief executive Robert Elstone has revealed that the Toffees are officially in talks to bring LA Galaxy's USA international striker Landon Donovan to Merseyside.

The versatile forward is expected to join the Toffees on loan now that the MLS season has ended, in a deal similar to the one which has taken David Beckham from Galaxy to AC Milan.

"Landon is a player David Moyes has identified as someone he would like to bring to the club," Elstone told his club's official website.

"We are working to make that happen and hope we can reach agreement soon with all the appropriate parties."
Should the talks prove successful, the player will join the club on January 2.

This is good news!

West Brom keeper Scott Carson has apologised to fans and team-mates for his red card against Cardiff.

He was sent off for violent conduct after head-butting Bluebirds striker Michael Chopra during Tuesday's defeat.

The 24-year-old England international said: "I'm captain of the team, a role I take very seriously, and I shouldn't have reacted in the way I did.

"I apologise to the players, the supporters and everyone connected with the club for the fact I was sent off."

Carson, who will serve a three-game ban for the dismissal, added: "A cross came over and I got caught by their player, who got nowhere near the ball.

"I should have just let it go and I'm disappointed in myself for getting involved.

"Having said that, I believe I was provoked and am disappointed in the way a fellow professional reacted.

"It was completely out of character for me to be involved in anything like that."

Carson will miss the games with QPR, Blackpool and Peterborough, and his place is likely to be taken by Dean Kiely, who replaced him against Cardiff.

"I don't like missing a minute of football - never mind three games - but Dean will come in and do a great job for the team, just like he always does," said Carson.

"We just need to put the whole thing behind us now because Tuesday was a nightmare from start to finish."
Piss off Carson you stupid twat. Chops didn't bloody provoke you all he did was come in for a cross and then you nut him you silly bastard. How the hell is this fella a captain, idk.
