Too little too late. The ever-reliable Daily Star source is saying the show's been axed.

It hasn’t been axed

supertv247 10-09-2018 01:58 PM

It's far from being axed right now. I can imagine their faces at Ch5 if they had PLANNED to axe it, now after seeing how successful the show still is. They've got quite the dilemma on their hands

Oaker 10-09-2018 01:59 PM

The fact we might actually reach BB20

AProducer'sWetDream 10-09-2018 02:04 PM

Although BB19 might still flop hard, I think the show looks in a decent position atm to be back next year. Channel 5 simply don't have *enough* shows which achieve ratings like Big Brother to fill the gap which would be left in the schedule.

The thing I fail to understand, though, is that with BOTS and Live From The House seemingly outperforming the slot average quite a lot of the time, why they still insist on giving us such little live feed? Surely a couple of hours in the afternoon/evening would rate better than whatever else they've got on five star at that time of day?

CBB22 and (Roxanne) our saviour

AProducer'sWetDream 10-09-2018 02:06 PM

I mean, if all the infrastructure is already there, I'd imagine live from the house is relatively cheap to produce compared to other shows, and would have the added benefit of the potential of more buzz if something dramatic happens while it's on?

Aaliyah 10-09-2018 02:12 PM

Not Roxanne saving the show. A Queen

I always thought it’s fair C5 don’t air CBB live that much, because they have HUNDREDS of hours of BB a year so they’re understandbaly wanting to fill more time with their own shows.. BUT, they’ve just started airing Friends at 4-5pm every week day AND 12-5pm every Sunday which has pissed me off because that show is on Netflix and Comedy Central 24/7 while live feed in those hours would easily rate more, cause buzz and therefore boost the main show :fist:

Oaker 10-09-2018 02:23 PM

How did the 2013 daytime live feed rate?

pontyboi 10-09-2018 02:24 PM

Last night: 1.23m (9.0%) inc +1.

Higher than I expected given all the competition.

Wow, I’m impressed, I expected sub 1million again if I’m honest

RileyH 10-09-2018 02:31 PM

Miss Roxy really did THAT huh

Elliot 10-09-2018 02:49 PM

Not Roxanne saving a 18 year old series from extinction

Pretty good with all that competition!

Share looks even better as a 9% share last week was getting 1.5m+

Guessing there was less audience watching TV.

Final... 1.59m I think.

*mazedsalv** 10-09-2018 02:55 PM

I believe super said that Saturdays timeshift was the highest ever for the show!

supertv247 10-09-2018 03:02 PM

Yep, 810k is the joint highest ever for big brother (joint with the first Saturday of this series) and Saturday’s 2.16m is also the highest rated Saturday show since Tiffany’s series

Cal. 10-09-2018 03:09 PM

Omg @ miss Roxanne saving Big Brother from the axe

Aaliyah 10-09-2018 05:26 PM

Not Roxanne being a secret super fan who cares more about big brother being on air than herself

*mazedsalv** 10-09-2018 06:27 PM

Not sure if anyone knows but Thursdays episode (the night of the actual "incident) was the weeks highest % in 16-34 young audience at 31.8% across every show on EVERY channel.

Here are the Top 4 in overall audience of that all important skew:

The biggest 16-34 audiences (commercials):

01 - 2.73m... 29.7% skew - The Great British Bake Off
02 - 1.67m... 23.1% skew - The X Factor (Sat)
03 - 1.48m... 24.1% skew - The X Factor (Sun)
04 - 687k... 31.8% skew - Celebrity Big Brother (Thu)

Note that it has less but that's because it gets lower ratings, the fact it was the highest % out of everything is incredible.

Rob! 10-09-2018 06:29 PM

But yeah, let’s get rid.
