I kind of feel sorry for them if they weren't such a reprehensible bunch. He's playing them and will continue to play them when out of office.

...so saying that the attack shamed America and that he didn’t condone it was another of his lies, then...the man is incapable of truth ...

If trump was removed or goes to prison there will be a war in America

About 80 million to be precise. I believe that's more than the population of the UK.

The same hysteria that Obama was going to be assassinated within the first six months. Slim's reply is perfect.

They will indeed, there is a big divide in America that’s not going to go away with trump.

It will kick off no doubt, and that will be it.

Trump supporters will be crazy regardless, Trump needs to be removed.

bots 10-01-2021 06:59 PM

none of us know how things are going to pan out. My own prediction is that the hate groups will be out in force on 16th-20th trying to disrupt the inauguration and then after that it will all settle down again.

Also facing federal charges is Cleveland Gover Meredith Jr., a Georgia man who in the wake of the election had protested outside the home of Republican Gov. Brian Kemp, whom Trump had publicly blamed for his loss in the state. Meredith drove to Washington last week for the “Save America” rally but arrived late because of a problem with the lights on his trailer, according to court filings that include expletive-laden texts.

“Headed to DC with a (s—-) ton of 5.56 armor-piercing ammo,” he texted friends and relatives on Jan. 6, adding a purple devil emoji, according to court filings. The following day, he texted to the group: “Thinking about heading over to Pelosi (C——’s) speech and putting a bullet in her noggin on Live TV.” He once again added a purple devil emoji, and wrote he might hit her with his truck instead. “I’m gonna run that (C—-) Pelosi over while she chews on her gums. … Dead (B——) Walking. I predict that within 12 days, many in our country will die.”

Meredith, who is white, then texted a photo of himself in blackface. “I’m gonna walk around DC FKG with people by yelling ‘Allahu ak Bar’ randomly.”

Just because he has millions of people who voted for him doesn't mean that there are millions of people willing to risk their lives/careers/imprisonment to go protest for him

Indeed; the majority will be habitual Red Voters who have and will always vote Republican, rather than Trump stans. There ARE millions of Trump stans but what percentage of those are willing to put themselves on the line at all? And then, of those, what percentage have the staying power to not run home when it gets real? Personal survival instinct is strong.

Don't get me wrong I think there will be very real clashes, I imagine the number is still in the tens-of-thousands, but the streets will not be lined by millions.

There's a reason the "same faces" crop up in the pictures of various clashes at various times... the same groups of activists have a heavy presence and create the illusion that there are "people everywhere" when in reality the same people are travelling around a lot.

At the moment the activists have the POTUS on their side. Come the inauguration, that changes and there is no chance of pardons and so although I'm sure there will be some violence and clashes, it won't be of any magnitude for long imo

i also think that many thought they could get away with anything because they were doing the will of the president and that's why they were so brazen. Now, they understand that a lot of people are going to be locked up for a considerable period of time. Also, it's one thing to think the dems are corrupt but when every world leader around the globe condemns their action, it has to give them a reality check on what they have been supporting.

Yep and as silly as it sounds Trump being banned from Twitter will probably have scared them a bit too

Oliver_W 11-01-2021 09:53 AM

Is it clear what they were hoping to actually achieve by this? Did they picture themselves lynching Pelosi and Pence before turning them into Strange Fruit? Did they "just" want to spread havoc? Did they actually think their actions would lead to a second Trump term?

yes, they wanted to stop the election being certified. That would be all that were at the demo. Then you have the far right groups that were intent on kidnap and murder. The 2 pipe bombs found at the gop and dem headquarters were intended to be used as a distraction to pull the police away from the capitol while they attacked congress. This could have all been absolutely disastrous

the opposite really i'd say it would make them more steadfast in their views and more likely to believe that their is something bigger at play, big tech censoring is a very dangerous game

hhhmmmm I don't know, it would make the most extreme of them more riled up but not the more "normal" of his supporters. Also, it cuts off his main way of communicating with them, out of sight out of mind and all that

From many of those who were street-interviewed in DC, it sounds like they genuinely believed themselves to be revolutionaries... that they were overthrowing the election and the whole system of government, for Trump to stay in and completely reform the "fraudulent" electoral process. They believed that was what was going to happen. They believed that the "vast majority" of the public/police/military were on their side and that the democrat win was a MASSIVE fraud brought about by a small number of villains, against "the will of the people". To the extent that they weren't just disappointed or down heartened when it didn't easily go their way - they were in disbelief. Totally shocked that they didn't end the day with their flag firmly planted on the roof and the "fraudsters" facing justice.

I saw a few clips of a woman in wide-eyed disbelief that the police were clashing with them... not angry - properly confused, like "what is happening they are attacking the wrong people???"
