There's never any rhyme or reason for this clown show voting.

Mae’s performance admittedly wasn’t the best, but some of the absolute guff that’s beaten us :joker:

Queen Loreen! Yes!
Italy 4th place. VERY happy with that! :cheer2:

Liam- 13-05-2023 11:06 PM

Find it hilarious that all these countries are all ‘no more war!!!’ Defending Ukraine but are all smiles when rewarding Israel but whatever.

A decent winner, if not a bit predictable, but definitely one of the better ones that could have taken it

Still think the Sweden song sounds like one of Katy Perrys !!

Is it Firework ??

Hopefully her lawyers are in the case as we speak
:)

Edit .. she should lose those unflattering knee pads

Isreal are fighting a pure evil, Europe backs them just like we back Ukraine.

MTVN 13-05-2023 11:45 PM

My thoughts

- Sweden a worthy winner. Powerful song, stood out from the crowd, very well performed

- Mae did not perform well. I like the song but it didn't deserve much and the radio version is obviously autotuned to hell. Frustrates me that we follow up any good year with a poor entry

- I was surprised at the lack of Ukrainian presence really. It felt more like we were just hosting it for us rather than hosting for them. I thought their act was rubbish which didn't help and they made no show of support for their country or anything

- Generally we hosted it well but it's funny we've always mocked how it's staged in other countries then when it comes down to it we host it in exactly the same way with all the cheese etc. Hannah Waddingham was good

- Why did those Croatian weirdos do so well on the public vote

- Czech, Armenia, Italy were my other favourites

Mystic Mock 13-05-2023 11:47 PM

There's a few things that I have to say about the Eurovision final.

1. The performances for the most part were good imo, I enjoyed most of them.

2. Graham Norton slagging off Armenia & Germany's entries when completely ignoring how the UK performance was performed like she was drunk, is imo very biased. I get that he likes to make jokes about other countries entries, but calling one entry boring, and saying that you don't want the other entry to win because you "don't want to hear it again" is deeply unprofessional, even by Graham Norton's own standards.

3. Ruth Lorenzo still looks stunning 15 years on from her stint on TXF (she was an early childhood crush) and my taste hasn't changed on Ruth Lorenzo being a stunner all of these years on. Just as beautiful as the woman representing Israel imo. I'll stop being silly now I promise.

4. The Jury were a disgrace tonight (technically last night) they were deliberately buffing up Loreen's points to stop Finland from winning, despite that being the public's wish. What is the point of the public voting if their vote counts for nothing? Which with the lead that the Jury gave Sweden tonight it basically meant that the Finland supporters (the majority) shouldn't have even bothered voting.

Obviously in the grand scheme of things going on in the world right now, Eurovision rigging who wins isn't the biggest sin in the world, but it is annoying to watch the public vote be completely disrespected.

Plus I don't buy that all of those Juries just conveniently thought that Sweden's was the best, especially with so many strong entries this year.

My personal favourite performance of the night was Australia, I think that it's a shame that the public didn't give it many votes.

My least favourite was definitely our entry, the song was generic, she had zero stage presence, and sung really badly. I don't mean to be harsh, but I thought that it was no Sam Ryder or Blue.

Sadly I think all the hype of the last week about the show left with more of a disappointment.
It seemed disjointed a lot of the time.

Didn't live up to expectations.
Too many similar songs few that stood out really.
However strong performances from some who got little reward for their performances.

I half expected Sweden to win although not my choice at all sorry.
Sweden's was behind on the main vote yet far ahead on the jury votes.
That disconnect between juries and the public is a problem for this contest really in my view.

In light of the number of votes cast it was rather close with only 58 votes deciding it.

Over half for me were pretty good songs, the vast majority were strong performances too.
Overall though sadly for me, it's one of the least enjoyed Eurovisions for me unfortunately.

Hoping for a great deal better next year.

As a footnote our entry just seemed there at the end, it wasn't performed to its best and no matter who it was and from what Country had it not been the UK, for me it just ended up being lost in the crowd.
We didn't really present it that well, it's been better presented and more slick in many previous years.

I watched it with 3 cousins one of whom ended up more bored with it than enjoying it this year.
That's my own take on it this year anyhow..it didn't really live up to expectations.
Sadly.
