This is what I've caught on the Internet about what's the politically correct terminology for women same sex relationships.

https://apastyle.apa.org/style-gramm...al-orientation

Basically calling a Lesbian or a Gay man a Homosexual is the offensive terminology nowadays.

I haven't caught anything about the term Lesbian being deemed offensive, unless someone off Twitter is trying to make it a thing.

A lot of people prefer not to get bogged down with exact labels these days, but then non-binary’s a label and we are where we are with that nonsense and its labelling over the past 6/7 years.

I get that.

But to me the term Lesbian needs to stay alive, because it helps in conversation and sounds less clinical and crude compared to saying woman on woman sex.

And yeah, I still have to try and get my head around Non-Binary tbh.

I hold nothing personal against anyone that identifies that way, it's just a generational thing on my part I think.

I had to round up all my mother's pills when she passed. The amount of prescribed and de-prescribed meds you find in the aftermath. Makes you wonder how you and your loved one ever kept track of it all. Hope you're bearing up okay.

In the spirit of this thread, I like that the option for unfriending someone on here is labelled 'break friendship'

Such an emotional guilt trip being employed in that phrase. :joker:

Wtf at Miss Alabama? I promise I'll let it go eventually, and I know I'm probably not being the nicest about it.

But how did the judges come to that conclusion?

Zizu 09-06-2024 06:37 AM

Mmmmm

Pondering wether she deserves any sympathy .. I’m torn

I'm not saying anything about her personality tbf, as I know nothing about her really.

But imo there's two things wrong with her win, and if the Media see these particular viewpoints as being a "vile troll" then I'll gladly join that group, because these are my two issues.

1. It's a competition essentially where beauty is a huge component of the contest, being severely overweight in my view (and I think that a fair few people do agree with me on this) isn't really a beautiful look.

And just to clarify, I am not talking about being slightly chubby, or even being slightly bigger than chubby, she is really unhealthy looking which then brings me to my second point. Which is also the bigger issue.

2. It's not a good look that the Showbiz world keeps promoting being severely overweight as a beauty standard.

Severe eating disorders shouldn't be being celebrated really by anyone imo, but especially by the Showbiz world, and it's clearly visible for everyone to see that the person in question has an eating disorder, it's beyond sick imo to encourage it.

They do it with both extremes of skin & bone and obese .. it’s quite bizarre given both are extremely unhealthy/dangerous .

I’d rather they went back to the old way of celebrating perfect bodies .. though I bet that view is regarded as negative

I'll freely admit that I have a bit of a negative thing about anorexia.

Honestly no hatred towards anyone suffering with it (as I know that it's a Mental Health issue,) but for some reason I actually struggle to look at anyone with severe Anorexia, so to anyone that thinks that I'm a horrible fat shamer, I'm an even worse person to deal with Anorexic people.

Again like with being slightly chubby, I can understand these competitions being accepting of slightly underweight (as tbf, it can be hard for a lot of people to get the "perfect" weight.)

What some people need to accept, is that extreme weight gains or losses isn't attractive, I already feel sorry for these people because they've got a Mental Health issue either way, and I feel for them even more when some people are encouraging their Mental Health problems.

I'm over this topic, like how LT is on anything LGBT related, I know that I'm coming across badly for what I'm saying, to some people on here, but I can't lie and pretend that being 30 stone overweight is okay/beautiful.

Neither of us are fat/thin shaming though …

It’s ridiculous for the media to promote both as positive role models imho

The thing is, people in their 30s identify as non-binary so it’s not really a generational thing massively divergent to yours there. It’s people from kids to people in their 30s. And there’s nothing to get your head around there. It’s all nonsense.

the current woke trend of hyper-individualism is literally obsessed with labeling everything

Again… to claim that people in their 30’s identify as non-binary is just a ridiculous generalisation !

A lot of people in their 30s do identify as non-binary. I didn’t say everyone. I said people. Some people.

Get yourself calm and clear-headed. Ciao, laa.

Some people = some people

People = all people
