Oh lots of dancing around a simple question Liam. Were you referring to me as one of those people when you said what you said, it seemed to me that you were considering you were talking about a point I made (even though you also claim I made no "actual point")

Everyone knows what Liam was saying. It's very much his MO to be insulting and then deny it and argue semantics.

In her own words: she doesn't care if a male wants to live the best life as a woman, that's fine, power to ya. Just stay out of women's spaces and sports.

Would you at least respect their pronoun-choice?

I more often than not indulge preferred pronouns, whatever I think.

Like they would respect a person who didn't?

I remember that celeb BB with Ann Widdecombe and that really annoying trans person where she was basically sitting there waiting 24 hours a day for them to slip up. That type of behaviour gets all the contempt from me that it deserves

I was listening to an interview with Riley and she went into the Locker Room situation a little more. When she asked the officials about Lia in the female changing room, she was told that in order for them to accommodate Lia, they'd made the Locker Room Unisex, told none of the girls that before they went in and started undressing so in theory any man at all could strolled in there while they were changing and they could say nothing about it.

In this case it seems pretty clear that he's no-debating the issue because he doesn't actually have good or solid debate points on the topic and he knows it. He can't debate it so defaults to "this isn't up for discussion".

Well that's pretty standard for some topics.

to be fair it's not just transgender issues these days. The intellectual level of people has fallen off a cliff. They just don't listen to any other point of view and insult anyone who dares to voice an alternative view

Yes, it's a very pick a side type of mentality and I think that's certainly come from social media and the internet. People aren't thinking things through for themselves so much anymore

When I did Philosophy at Uni level, one of the first things they taught on the subject (which is, effectively, the study of thinking) is that there are no "wrong answers", only "poor arguments". That a stance you don't agree with should still be respected if the person stating it can explain their reasoning and logic well. You'll find that eventually there's a premise that you disagree on and that leads to the divergence of opinion, but that's OK... It's still a well reasoned personal opinion.

If someone CANNOT or REFUSES TO do that then in all likelihood, the opinion hasn't been formed by themselves, it's been indoctrinated by or copied from someone else.

I wonder if they still teach that? I imagine there'd be a lot of kickback...

Well Kathleen Stock was a professor of Philosophy so......... I'd imagine she tried to teach that in her class before her students decided that's not how it should be taught
