Lackeys would be a better word to use, however if you feel the need to use metaphores, why not use rottweiler or doberman, something a bit more "apt" whilst he isnt as fierce as a dobermann, what about labrador, or collie?

Thought she was nice when she first entered the house and made friends with Freddie, but her true colours soon came out and she is not a very nice person at all. Her arguments seem way over the top and she likes to try to get every one else involved. I was so wrong about her, do not like at all now but would still prefer Lisa to go before her.
