Well it does...

Its just music snobbery end of:rolleyes:

I only become a "music snob" when people are too closed minded to listen to music that isn't in the top 40.
There is a lot of brilliant stuff out there, including the bands that have horribly morbid and strange names. They are the best! |

So the name of an artist would stop you from listening to them? |

And being a music snob just means you that can't take the fact that people don't like your fave music :bored: |

Have to say though, you're all missing out. There is too much crap being generated these days. There was a time where I could play Radio 1 during the day, but not anymore. |

I'm the kinda music aficionado who takes great pleasure in the people who willingly subscribe and pay for generic, bland, balless music that the record moguls churn out with ruthless efficiency; pocketing masses of money in the process while they saturate our tv sets and radio channels with their mindless fad inducing pop drivel, happy in the knowledge that they have total control over who you think is cool or not cool.
In the meantime I actually really enjoy discovering new interesting sounds from both the past and the present. Call me a snob if you like, but I have more respect for others who share my love for the more obscure acts who have never really hit the limelight. It's like we're devoted to unearthing real talent, rather than something that conforms to what's perceived as being cool right now. Obviously I'm generalizing like mad here but there is a certain amount of truth init. Oh, and the same applies to film too. Like discovering lesser known, more interesting works that don't conform. |

Music has no diversity anymore. The same generic shíte over and over. For example, Girls Aloud and Britney Spears. All of their songs sound the same with the heavily synthed vocals. They might as well produce one song that we can play over and over and over again, because it ****ing sounds like it.
Give me real talent! |
and of course, by applying you logic to the sterotypes of lesser known music
All bands that have morbid names are all devil worshippers......right? |

Still though, if you look hard enough you can find the good stuff, even on tv and on the radio at certain times. |

I don't like all genres of music really but all genres have their good and bad points I think. I hate rap but I wouldn't brand it a bad genre since there's no such thing as a bad genre, only bad artists really.
Saying that any music act produced by Disney should be thrown into the deepest ring of hell, most rap and R'n'B artists can follow them too. |

Disney = Crap lol, but if peeps like it, well so be it  |

My post was targetted more at the generic flood of crap we get nowadays. |
well that sounds like a lot of fun.
The real problem with so many people is that think if you listen to a Britney Spears song you automatically are stuck within this little niche of Radio 1/Disney/Top 40 when most people over the age of 14 have a decent balance of both. I like a lot of mainstream artists including the afore mentioned Britney and GaGa but I equally like a lot of less known artists or mainstream flops. |

maybe some people think Girls Aloud and Britney Spears have real talent So stop being so big headed and acting like my music is best and all other music can go die because i don't like it:rolleyes: |
