Congratulations, no one cares.

Shaun 05-06-2010 03:32 PM

...whoa. mature.

Photon 05-06-2010 03:42 PM

Maybe I just don't understand the importance of you needlessly chiming in on your dislike of a genre?

Shaun 05-06-2010 03:42 PM

It's a forum, dip****. People discuss things.

Hey, I'm just discussing your pointless responses to this thread. Don't get butthurt. It's a forum, remember?

-- Edit: making this reply useful.

Shaun 05-06-2010 04:00 PM

Funny, I thought the traditional response to 'pointless replies' that 'noone cares' about was to ignore them, but I assume your holier-than-thou attitude conflicts with that. Anyway, whatever, I've had my say. Toodleoo.

Photon 05-06-2010 04:13 PM

That's cool stuff, bro.

MassiveTruck 05-06-2010 10:12 PM

I don't mind it, in fact I think it's pretty good but if I said... does it sound better if you're off your head... what would you say?

Photon 15-06-2010 12:42 AM

This is sex.

This one was a bit of an anthem a few years back. I was, like... a few feet away from this guy when I saw him at Plastic People. One of my best nights out EVER.

Damaris 02-08-2010 06:37 PM

Ahh i love dubstep! Tons of it at Underage Festival yesterday! I also managed to see Caspa and Jakwob :P

Yeah, the stream doesn't work for me either, but you can D/L it from there too.

I thought Dubstep was a band at first lol.
I've never heard of that genre until like this year, why is it suddenly so popular>
I listened to a couple of songs and they were alright, but not like amazing or anything, as half of my friends keep saying. >.<

It's taken about 10 years to really take off. Started gaining popularity around 2008, with Chase & Status and now Magnetic Man.

'nother one.

Dubstep is just glorified chav music really

That said, some of it is alright

You really think that? Last time I checked, chavs were still listening to helium-fuelled quasi-gabber virtually interchangeable with the sort of happy hardcore that was popular in the early 90's.

I think any popular genre of dance music goers through four stages

1st phase - It's underground and known only to its area of origin
2nd phase - Critics start paying attention and rave about it as much as they can while it's still fresh (this would have been about 2007 for dubstep when Burial's Untrue came out)
3rd phase - It gets popular and grows stale (I think this is where dubstep is at the minute)
4th phase - It goes completely out of date and only chavs still listen to it

I thought this argument had been dead and buried by now, as it's been established this is complete and utter tosh.
