It gives people an unfair advantage, too. For example, Danyl's audition would be no where near as impressive without his backing track.
When emotionally fragile people come on stage it's horrible watching them be ridiculed by thousands of people.

By doing it in front of an audience straight away they wittle down potential talent who are too nervous to audition in front of a massive audience and we'll lose that journey, the mentors helping them to overcome stagefright and encouraging them up to the live shows, rubbish!
If they are emotionally fragile then The X Factor probably isn't best for them. The chances are, they wouldn't be able to cope with the fame and would end up like Susan Boyle.
Yeah but it's about their journey and how they over come the stage fright, most are really nervous at first, that is the point of xfactor, we watch them get better and face the next stage.

Not keen on it at all, the buzzers were a big part to the show, but still ill watch, it is about the singing after all.

Yeh dont like the audience or the backing tracks, it should be them showing off their raw talent to just the 4 judges. save the audience for the ones that get through

I thought this WAS BGT. The audience are complete morons. Cheering the bad ones and booing Simon every time.

I like it at times.

It can be really mean on the deluded ones, but also some of them can get the crowd on their side.

And I love when acts come on and are brilliant.

It's awful I said it on the other thread but the audience makes the talent seem worse, the contestants shouldn't perform in front of a large audience until the live shows after they've had some professional training.

Most of the good contestants this year would have been considered better if they performed on a one on one basis like in the other series.

LemonJam 06-09-2009 05:43 PM

Also, contestants probably don't seem as good because they have to tune with the backing track, whereas in the auditions they sang a capella and didn't have to perfectly tune as a couple of odd notes could slip away.
