virgin wont have it, they cancelled sponsering bb after the race row, even though itv said they wont, im putting bet on theyll take it..

Jayson 26-08-2009 03:37 PM

The best thing about having BB on a channel is the advertising, BBC don't advertise, therefore will not want it.

I'd say the only way BB can come back is in a few years time on C4 again.

bigbrothermaniac008 26-08-2009 03:46 PM

channel 4 will regret it when all they are showing is repeats of friends and how clean is your house

nickc25 26-08-2009 03:56 PM

ITV (1,2,3,4) will not have it.

BBC will not.

Channel 4 obviously not

Channel 5 no way.

Sky 1 nope

Living TV maybe

Virgin 1 Maybe - Its a digital channel and all tvs must be digital soon

So from the list I would say most likely Living or Virgin. I cannot see any of them wanting it though. Sky most definately do not have the room for it on sky 1 anyway.

Maybe if it became really cheap one of them would take a punt on it but other than that I think we will not be seeing it again anytime soon.

People should accept all things come to an end

I know it is.

I am looking it from both a room point of view and a commercial one.

Virgin 1 is like Dave - It is full of old repeats so could probably do with it

Living is similar to E4 because it has a lot of reality type programmes and would probably have the room for it too as there are a lot of repeats or unwanted shows on that too.

Endemol will come up with something, i'm 100% sure they won't let our BB die out like this, they'll make a deal with a channel i'm sure of it.

It'll not be the same though, i can't get used to Davina saying something like "you are live on living TV please do not swear" :yuk:

Why? Its only a tv show!! Unless you are the boss you cannot be 100% sure too. It is on in many countries so I am sure they make their money from it regardless of if its in the UK or not.

Channel 4 are the ones that have messed it up, for 5 years it has been very crap with fake actors etc. This year has been one of the worst. Viewing figures agree with this.

Would Virgin etc be able to pay for it?

shams79 26-08-2009 04:26 PM

I think BB has run its course and is about time it is taken off our screens, only for a few years so the audionce numbers can be built up again, and to say that it was mainly the youth audionce that is watching the show is not true.

I remember a C4 or Endemol executive saying before BB2 that after BB2 it would be time to retire it.

Taking into account the digital switch over and that terrestrial TV while it is still around will not touch it with a barge pole, any station taking it on would need first of all to be at least on Freeview and also have a cable channel subsidiary, similar relationship to C4 and E4. They would also need to be able to have a dedicated channel for the live feed as in the red button on E4.

Given that, I can not see any station taking it up.

As for Channel 5, does anyone remember that attempt at a reality TV programme "Back to Reality" If you think Channel Four were bad . . . .

They have a lot more money than channel 4 do so it wouldnt be a problem but I personally think it will be at least 3 years before it comes back if it ever does which is not too likely.

which is why the only channel that I think could take it is virgin. They have the money and channels on freeview too. Plus a lot of people have cable and sky.

Bottom line is, it will be gone - accept it people!!

But Channel 4 don't produce BB, so if it moves networks it will be the exact same show, same producers, same format etc but just not on C4.

It would need a new production team etc. A new relaunch and format but along similar lines.

I just think the type of people who have been in over the last few years have not been right. Need more down to earth people.

Ch5 has moved on
taken all the Aussie Soaps
and has Dawn Airey (former sky boss)
in Charge.
Closer to the End of next year
Ch5 can not be ruled out.

Big Savings would be made by moving Big Brother
to a New Location
and building loads of secret rooms.

cookiemonster 26-08-2009 05:03 PM

channel 5 is the outcast channel that no one watches, they should have taken it. but i guess they want to stay boring.

i hope someone takes it, i don't want bb to end!

truthfully though, i don't think we'll see for quite a few years or maybe ever again after next year...

Blasphemer 26-08-2009 05:19 PM

After this years nonsense with magazines, just about EVERYONE's girl/boyfriend, mum/dad/auntie/friend in, then out. Now even taking HM's into the real world FGS.
Why even bother with next year? Without sacking most of the production crew and getting some fresh people with good ideas in there, they might as well just make the house out of glass with internet access and a TV and daily papers.

Lwize 26-08-2009 07:46 PM

A lot can happen in a year...
