I can agree entirely with you on that keith however thats not the stance that Ahmedfan had on Saturday morning, according to him Sophie won because she was widely more popular, not because her fans voted more often than any others.
I do think she is more popular, based on the crowds, BBLB, facebook, online polls, etc. But of course, they may have voted harder too. I did cite Kenneth's bet as an example.

The system is open to abuse and is therefore in no way perfect however it produces the opportunity which allows people to think they will help their favourite by voting more and helps to swell endemols and Ch4's coffers.
Yes of course.

He does however tend to change opinion more often than a ragtime female wicket keeper changes her pads, and quotes one opinion to back one point then a different opinion to back the counter point a few hours later. All without any facts.
I haven't changed opinion. I still think Sophie is more popular, but I still think it's a dodgy system and needs correcting.
He cites "facts" like Siavash is not liked on facebook and received boos(on facebook?). How can he claim that Siavash is not liked on Facebook?[/rquote]
I said he has less fans on facebook than others. And he has a lot of haters, even check the forums for that. But ultimately, a better system needs to be put in place.

Oh my god...you are one of those people that you are twisting about!

Or you are a liar...whichever, its a bad thing.

You said you voted hundreds of times for lisa and david to stay, and on other evictions also. In fact, every eviction you have said you have voted 100 times or more :bored:[/rquote]
Not every eviction, but yes I have voted tons of times on certain evictions. But that's my point, it's not fair. I am one person, so I shouldN'T get a bigger vote weighting than any other person. It's easily open to manipulation.

Any person can bet plenty of money on someone then just keep ringing. We really don't know the legit number of fans for each HM out there, the voting system is very open to rigging.

That's my point, with this kind of system, it's very easy to manipulation. Just HOW it was manipulated ... is hypothesis.

How can you cite kennys bet as an example, you don't even know they did really place a bet, did he have the face of a man who had just won 50 grand after sophie won?

Endemol and CH4 probably wont change the voting system. Why? Because its a good little earner for them. They dont really care if people vote again and again, if they have doubts over betting scams they can discard block votes at their own discretion, and whats more they wont refund the charges back to the discarded voters.

Dolphin-and-Whale 07-09-2009 03:24 PM

I was thinking, you see the way KArly had 10000 on Sophie to win 50000, She could easily spend thousands voting to make sure she wins and she would still make a big profit

Which proves, that if there WAS some betting scam in place, that it was David it was in favour of. People got him at 100/1 and voted s**tloads to try and get him the winner so they could win maybe hundreds of thousands.
Not proof, but definitely a possibility. And I do agree that David's placing is suspicious. But then so could the other placings, and the respective %'s. With such a system we'll never know.

But you are being paranoid,as normal and trying to see things that arent there, I think anyway.
You just said that David's placing is weird and that anyone can make bets and then keep re-dialling. So it ain't paranoia ...

If there was anything dodgy going on, it was with david...he SHOULD have finished 5th. He was set to finish 5th all week, and roddy and even charlie were way more popular than him, so if I was you, since you like bleating on everywhere that david came 3rd, I would stop all this betting scam nonesense, as it just proves exactly WHY he got third instead of 5th, doesnt it? In YOUR world at least, if you actually believe this nonsense you write.
David is the most weird placing and % of the 5 based on info we're aware of, but the placings and %'s of the others are still open to manipulation. We'll never really know just HOW MANY fans each of the other 4 have ... it's guesswork. And with such a system, it's very open to manipulation.

We could sit here all day hypothesizing which HM is more popular than the other and which HM recieved the most vote rigging ... but it's all conjecture. But my point, AND, your point ... is that anyone can keep re-dialling. And place bets. So it's a cr*p system!

Very reliable sources rumoured that David was 5th from around the night of Tuesday-afternoon of Thursday. It is clear that he picked up tons of votes on the Thursday HL show when the show was mostly about him (his birthday and his task).

And meanwhile Siavash was getting bad edits all that week especially on the Thursday, but people stull votes, but looking at the weighted % David looked close to become 2nd and that IMO was down to the last 3 HL shows as they all painted David in a good light and Siavash in a bad light but Siavash still managed to stay strong at 2nd.

As stated by Davina in Charlie's interview, I think his tantrum about not being the stylist annoyed viewers, it wasnt a very good day for him.

But Roddy is the one Im shocked at, he came 5th but I dont know why.

Of course, but the voting system is still garbage. I mean you had hardcore Rachel fanatics on DS voting 100+ times in last year's final, and she ended up scraping a win with 51% in the final vote against Mikey. The likelihood is, she had a much smaller fanbase than Mikey. He probably had more fans and voters in total, but they were less obsessed and didn't congregate and organise big waves of voting on forums.

If it's about public opinion, then everyone's opinion should have equal weighting. Otherwise you could just have a little small group of freaks/fanatics, voting 1000's of times each.

And since voting figures are lower than ever these days, esp with no text voting anymore, it's even more prone to fiddling. HMs aren't getting 4 million votes anymore (like Nadia).

They need to fix this. I mean Rachel's win last year was already proof of an erroneous system abused by multiple voting. Hell, maybe many other evictions/placings were skewed by multiple voting.

I personally believe Roddy had more fans than HMs 2nd to 4th. But they just didn't vote as hard. Ultimately with such a shakey system, we'll never know the true reality of public opinion.
