[rquote=2558237&tid=147112&author=*mazedsalv**]Excited to see this, but if he predicts it correctly and shows us how to predict it (as he will do he said on Friday if he is right) then Lottory will be no more because everyone would be winning.[/rquote]

It might be like that betting on horses thing he did.... so complicated, long winded and complex that most people wont be bothered or able to do it. He did say it took him a year to predict these lottery numbers.

HalfwitFTW 09-09-2009 09:50 PM

[rquote=2558444&tid=147112&author=Nathan]There is no way thats possible, it is a fix.[/rquote]

NAh its not. How can you fix the lottery... its completely random

King Gizzard 09-09-2009 09:50 PM

the thing is, if its real and he tells everryone how to do it, then everyone will be doing the lottery

so, the lottery will get more money from more people taking part

Big advertisement.

Jack_ 09-09-2009 09:50 PM

THAT WAS AMAZING!

I am seriously interested to see how he did that. It has to be an illusion, but if he's actually come up with something that we can all do that would just be insane.

Can't wait for Friday now!

*mazedsalv** 09-09-2009 09:52 PM

I sat like this....

Facebook are all talking about it, but some people are going on about how it could have been printed on the balls digitally, I disagree (printed literally 4 secs after the numbers were announced!).

Ratings would have been high i expect for the show.

\PJ/ 09-09-2009 09:53 PM

^^^ I bet they weren't i would be surprised if it got more than three mil.

Mark 09-09-2009 09:53 PM

I thought it was done via laser printing when I watched it. Seems plausable

King Gizzard 09-09-2009 09:53 PM

they said the lottery is done a bit before they broadcast it on tv, so they have an agreement with derren that they give him the numbers, he makes up some wacky way of guessing the numbers, more people enter the lottery, the lottery get more money

MarkWaldorf 09-09-2009 09:55 PM

There's no way he'll really tell people how to do it. It's probably just an illusion, considering thats what he does best. I'm calling it now there's some twist involved which we'll all kick ourselves for missing....

I reckon 3.6m. The whole country was talking about it, news, newspapers, magazines, TV ect... would be the 3rd highest rating of 2009 on C4 (behind CBB6 launch and BB10 launch I reckon)

Tom 10-09-2009 12:03 AM

there was a mirror used. i'll let you find it yourself but once you've noticed it its so obvious, especially the way he moves around it. even some of the bricks are like the house of mirrors. so theres some kind of illusion going on to either laser print the balls, stick numbers on or get new ones on there

And he takes a while to write the numbers down letting whatever is happening to work.

Tom 11-09-2009 03:07 PM

I just watched it again, there is no mirror I think I was seeing things or jumping the gun. In HQ you can see what I meant, but its just a dodgy wall and reflection on the floor

Not long until it starts now. :hello:

I think a split screen was used, but I'm hoping that it'll be something more interesting than that seeing as he doesn't usually use camera trickery to fool the audience.

Either way it's caused a lot of speculation and it was a brilliantly executed stunt.

Johann 11-09-2009 09:14 PM

That REALLY explained everything - I want an hour of my life back.

BGT-FAN! 11-09-2009 09:17 PM

OMG!

King Gizzard 11-09-2009 09:38 PM

Croc of ****

Ramsay 11-09-2009 10:03 PM

I dont get it

Jack_ 11-09-2009 10:07 PM

I'm even more confused than I was before. I guess we'll never know the truth, but he is a genius.

I believed the whole Wisdom of Crowds thing until he mentioned fixing the draw, now surely he wouldn't have done that? But you never know really...

It was a great show nonetheless and the coin thing was interesting and I want to give it a go.

He could not possibly have done all that.

If he had, he would have been arrested, Im sure they have endless security tapes round lottery HQ which would have caught the 'insider'...he just couldnt pull that off

That bit was all tongue in cheek...

MrGaryy 11-09-2009 10:26 PM

If he did fix it, he'd have to be the only criminal mastermind to explain exactly how they did it on National TV and still not get caught :P but I don't imagine he did.

Vicky. 11-09-2009 10:29 PM

LOL I can imagine the people who work for the lottery all being cross examined and that :joker::joker::joker:

All the security tapes being watched back...all because of that

Ramsay 12-09-2009 01:34 AM

so next week were gonna be ''glued to our seats''?
as much as i love derren brown
this events series just doesnt seem like the old derren i love

TurtleSoup 12-09-2009 05:38 PM

(psst, what's the snowflake about?)

saraholeila 13-09-2009 10:15 AM

He didn't actually "predict" anything. Prediction means he would have shown the viewers the numbers he picked before the lotto balls came out.
Bad trick.
Definitely green screen. There's even a software program you can use to make a camera appear jerky and hand held when it's perfectly still.
