Were you just naturally seeing them? They just popped up?

What's the full story, I mean, were you with somebody when it happened?

Oh and the last person to see Bats was Bruce Wayne and he became Batman.[/rquote]

Well I went to my doc, I was very drunk and pretty out of it at this point. My mum made me go. Told the doc I had tied a tie around my neck in order to see how it would feel. (not a good idea) She called crisis team. Crisis team came out and I refused to work with them, said I was fine and all that. So they called a mental health assessment out on me. Who did not believe I was safe (you can only be sectioned if you are a danger to yourself or the public). So I said I would work with crisis team at that point but they were not having it, so they sectioned me at like 2am.

Well Inone

If you say you're fine, you're fine I guess.

Glad you're still cool.

I would work with the crisis team though. I guess it's only now and again and they won't come chasing for you then either. If you miss a day... they'll think twice before letting you go again, yeah?

Just go there, yes sir, no sir, three bags full sir and be cool. Then you'll be back to where you were and all is sound.

You were sectioned and then let go after a week?...sounds more like an emergency section, they can keep you for a few days till they decide whether to do a 28 day section or not

These days they are very careful what they do under sectioning someone.

They do want you to have therapy or medication but also, the human rights law is in favour of all living breathing individuals - so even if 2 Doctors say "yeah, let's give him/her this that and the other", if you have some debilitating circumstance because of it, you have room to complain and sue.

So in the large part they do try and help but they are also very careful and would rather have you in hospital for monitoring rather than out on the streets.

Could I put a complaint in about being sectioned?

Erm...

I don't know the complete ins and outs of your situation Inone. I mean you could complain about services but if in your case, police, Doctors, a whole mental health team and your mum was involved in leading to this - then it sounds by the book for your safety and maybe others. It's unclear without knowing the full picture.

I think if you are concerned about the treatment or the whole sectioning scenario go to your local mental health charity and talk to them about it. Go over your scenario, your personal thoughts and they could outline in detail whether what occurred was valid and by the book or if something was not done properly.

I would definitely recommend the second paragraph. It will like put every piece of the scenario together for you.

InOne 29-09-2009 01:24 PM

I don't really know any mental health charitys really or that they existed. Don't think we seem a worthy cause really.

Try these Inone, dont know where you are based but these should have phone numbers etc for you to contact local experts, my friend says the top one, MIND, helped her a great deal.

Hope it helps.

Section 2 is usually a 28day section?

Either way; why would you want to put a complaint in for people trying to help you? Glad you're okay...

They were not trying to help me. It did not need to go as far as a section.
