It's nothing to do with less scary.... it's him that's worrying me. If it's just to highlight mask of sanity like you say, why not post a pic of Harold Shipman or Fred West?

Because they did not look like movie stars did they? They are not the most photographed Serial Killers are they? Infact, I think the term 'Serial Killer' was first coined to Ted. He just fits the phrase most. Does Bundy particularly disturb you or something?

setanta 05-10-2009 02:08 PM

All serial killers should disturb you; it doesn't matter how they look. Aesthetics shouldn't come into a discussion like this. The man was seriously disturbed and killed women in the most horrific ways imaginable, and I find it strange that you would want to see his image everytime you post on this forum. That's just weird, I'm sorry.

Well I must be weird then.

setanta 05-10-2009 03:24 PM

Yes, you must me because it's not normal to be associating yourself with a man such as Ted Bundy, especially on a public forum.

Indeed. Just go back to making jokes about it.

setanta 05-10-2009 03:27 PM

There's honestly nothing really to joke about at this stage. I find it worrying that you like seeing his face..... he murdered women in the most horrible ways imaginable, just like Fred West, and yet you want to display his image alone. It's wrong.

At what stage? It's not like there is anything different, we put tossed opinions back and forth that is it.

setanta 05-10-2009 03:33 PM

It's nothing about opinions though... it's worrying and wrong to be associating yourself with a "person" like Ted Bundy. Your excuses don't hold water because you seem to have a morbid fascination with him alone when the reality is he was a depraved human being who committed unspeakable acts on innocent women. That's something that shouldn't be embraced.

Im not embracing him, im not fascinated, as I have said before he best fits the mask of sanity. Also as I have said he has become somewhat mythical, he exists in pictures and video, that is it. Were the people who cheered and sang about his death outside really any better?

Put yourself in the position of the family of Lynette Culver, a 12 year old girl who Bundy raped and murdered, and then tell me if they were wrong to celebrate his death? The man is just as big a monster as Fred West or any other serial killer and yet you choose to highlight him alone. It's wrong.

A life for a life is not always right. They could have used Bundy to study and look for the early warning signs. I agree he should have been kept away from society but they could have learnt so much more. He got an easier death than any of his victims, why not actually just get use out of him to prevent more deaths?

setanta 05-10-2009 04:10 PM

He was uncooperative with the law, only mentioning more victims in an attempt to delay his death penalty. He avoided it on numerous occassions by promising to name more victims and reveal their resting places. The guy was a monster.

And you're deflecting now...

I have told you why I am highlighting him. I know what he did towards the end, and he was his own undoing. I can't see how he was ever deemed sane during the trial.

setanta 05-10-2009 04:14 PM

Yes, this mask of sanity rubbish. It's in very poor taste.

InOne 05-10-2009 04:15 PM

Well why did you keep asking me if you knew?

setanta 05-10-2009 04:19 PM

Because it's a ridiculous excuse to highlight one mass murderer in particular over all the rest of them. There's literally no justification in displaying an image of a man who raped, tortured and murdered innocent women, while engaging in the odd bout of necrophilia.

Not an excuse, it fits the term very well. I know what he did, you don't have to keep telling me.

setanta 05-10-2009 04:26 PM

And yet you still choose to highlight him. It's just plain weird and mask of sanity is an excuse..... many other serial killers to select from and yet you continually post his image up. It's slightly disturbing.

This is only the second image. It might be disturbing to you, but it's not to me. It's not hurting anyone, it's just there. I find his story the most interesting and him to be an interesting person, that is all.

setanta 05-10-2009 04:32 PM

That's fair enough but it doesn't merit posting his image alone because then you make a connection between him and yourself - it's like you're celebrating his life work. Bizarre and unsettling.

It may seem like that, but it's nothing like that. As we have already decided, im weird anyway.

setanta 05-10-2009 04:41 PM

Of course it's in celebration of him because you already said it's not designed to offend or to shock. You're far too interested in his story, that's all. It's not cool or thought provoking; just a little weird and offensive.

I am not THAT interested, I just like the story n that. I really don't think we will agree on anything on the matter setanta, we are going in circles.

setanta 05-10-2009 04:45 PM

Yep we are. Just cannot understand how you could be associating yourself with a killer like him. Like the story? Are you mental? Interesting yes, but not enjoyable.
