The fact that we are laughing is that this has gone too far.

Most of the time, white people are the ones called "white trash" and "white bred" but apparently this doesnt matter.

But lets just say, a black man punches a white man... thats just an attack.
A white man punches a black man.... thats a racist attack.

I can imagine some people will get a little too sensitive and this thread will be closed.. as always.

Get a grip, will you please? You know, when a subject is taboo, that gives said subject power. It makes an issue out of something that should no longer have any power or hold. Sorry if I'm too open for you about this, but I firmly believe that if there's an :elephant: in the room, you should name the *******er, take the piss, and watch the fat **** starve.

Crimson Dynamo 28-10-2009 12:38 PM

can you still get Gypsy creams?

Enid 28-10-2009 12:39 PM

Yes, precisely.

I never take **** like this seriously. That's why I laugh and joke about it, and if that offends people, well, that is not my problem.

So you think banning anything that could be misconstrued, and not necessarily racist, AS racist is a good thing?

I laugh at this because I am not racist and because it is one step too far. As I said before, if someone is racist they will continue being racist. This is not dealing with the underlying issue. Paper over the cracks.

Crimson Dynamo 28-10-2009 12:51 PM

everyone does know that Andrew neil made a basic observation comparison and that was all

right?

Yes I do. If it offends one person, I dont think it should be allowed on a public network.
But personally, I gladly welcome people making such remarks, or laughing at it. To me, they are just words, they dont affect me. BUt at least they let me know about the person. As long as I am not discriminated against, as long as I am not denied opportunities, as long as violence is not involved, its just fine with me. Let them all stand up, and show themselves, so I can promptly avoid them in the future.

sorry buy you clearly have no idea about broadcasting and viewing numbers

if you stuck to that mantra all we would watch was our reflections in a blank screen.

The point is though, why would balck people find it offensive? I wouldn't find offensive if someone called me milky bar or whatever cos I am white, so what!!

It's the PC people pandering them that does it. It's similar to kids, when they fall and you shower them in hugs and kisses and they start crying, yet if you don't make a fuss out of it they carry on without a second thought, no tears and no fuss.

The point is, just because you dont find it offensive, doesnt mean someone else will not.

We are not kids!!

Chantel 28-10-2009 01:40 PM

Why would you call them a hobnob anyway :S

Tom 28-10-2009 01:45 PM

I would like a chocolate hobnob to dip into my 'tea without milk'

POINTLESS. Would anyone here be offended if someone called them a custard cream?

Never said you were. Read my post again if you don't understand it. And by saying this, I by no means mean that you won't understand it because you're black. I just mean read my post again.

Beastie 28-10-2009 01:49 PM

lol a chocolate hob nob is a bit random! I always thought if I was in the bb8 house I would say to charley "hello charley and the chocolate factory" but in a fun way.. mainly because her name is charley.. similar to "charlie" but then theres the "chocolate" part..

Yeah white people get called racists but black people have insulted white people?

ahh I dont know.. I dont know what is "crossing the line" but Im not racist anyway so im not worried.

However this has been a good intelligent read this thread.

Crimson Dynamo 28-10-2009 01:50 PM

It referred to Gordon Brown not wanting to reveal his fave chocolate biscuit. this show in question was a politics show and was making light of that fact.
