I'm with you totally about the last two weeks I just wish there was another way to show contempt for the way the show has changed. I would like to have one week when we could vote off rather than vote to save..that would mix it up a bit!

The show is manipulation of the highest order and I'd prefer to see Louis' two losers winning it because it would surely spell the end to the whole formula. The last two weeks have just p"ssed me off way too much, with two very talented acts leaving the show because they never got the backing of the producers or the public.

It makes me wonder what the public actually look for in "personnality" though. I mean If you take Lucie for example, I do think she's a very good singer but she doesn't seem to have much personnality, Stacey is thick as a ditch, to me Rachel had the best personnality of the 3 of them and a great voice but people didn't like her? She seemed nice, genuine, bubbly and intelligent

See I agree with you, I can't stand Stacey! She hasn't got THAT amazing a voice and her personality makes me cringe! Lucie I do like but she's not exactly Little Miss Personality either is she? Rachel was kooky and interesting and everyone on the show seemed to love her, I just don't get it.

Yes I guess it in the eye of the beholder....or who the person identifies most with...guess there are alot of Stacies, and Jedwards out there:devil:

MissChelle 05-11-2009 11:43 AM

Oh and I think there should be an independant group of judges. This thing of having Simon and co mentor AND judge just doesn't work anymore imo. It's more about the judges than the 'talent' (or lack of it in some people's cases).

Yep, but they didn't give her the airtime or the back story that the public crave on these kinda shows. Rachel believed - rather foolishly in hindsight - that the strength of your voice and performances alone should determine your value and of course, as we've seen, it requires more to gain the publics interest on these vacuous, superficial programmes.

And I agree about Lucie: I don't see any personality and you can sense that in her voice. It's very dull. Stacey is over playing the dim but nice part which is blinding people to the fact that she's a hopeless performer. Rachel was the one with the real class.

Well, yeah, there must be. I mean if I had to be friends with one of those 3 girls, I'd definately pick Rachel

Tracyjay 05-11-2009 11:44 AM

me too!

Yep you're right, except for the some people's cases... I'd personally say most people's cases.

Sadly still giggling over that quote "Lloyd Daniels, a nondescript 16-year-old with a frog in his throat" !!!!poor lamb

Who do you actually think has talent this year? I thought Rachel was the best singer in the competition tbh.

Haha I did too! He's sounded God awful the past couple of weeks, he really can't sing that well at all. Louis is actually right about him, he's be better suited to a boy band, he's no solo artist. I think Cheryl made a huge mistake picking him over Duane.

Rachel was it for me; there's nobody else who stands out. I like Joe but he's a bit too dull and Lucie is defo hiding elements of her personality - I'd put money on it. They just don't have what Rachel has in her voice.

It's a really mediocre year now.

Yeah she should have picked Duane & Ethan over Ricki & Lloyd imo

She had to have a teeny in though. Duane should have been in there ahead of Rikki. I'd have had a punt on Daniel (he was the kinda operatic singer right?).

Me too. He had a bit of character. A bit of Pheobe's sexy phlem.

Joe is a stage performer in my eyes, not a recording artist, though granted he can really sing. He's just a bit too cookie cutter cutie pie for me though, something about him grates on me. I've said for a few weeks now that I don't think Lucie is as nicey nicey 'sweet girl from a small village' as we're made to believe. I do think she can sing well though.

Rachel was totally unique I think, real shame she's gone.

Joe & Lucie have good voices but Rachels was more interesting. I would never buy or listen to either of those 2 even though they do have good voices, they just sound like everyother pop star on the radio where as Rachels stood out, you'd know it was her straight away

I was so annoyed with her not picking Duane and Ethan was hot! Haha my fickle side coming out now! :joker:

Yeah that Daniel would even have been a better choice than either Ricki or Lloyd, they are so weak compared to most of the others.

Tracyjay 05-11-2009 12:00 PM

I think Rachel "has legs" as they say I hope she gets picked up by a record co.
