A internet campaign WILL NOT stop it. It NEEDS to be on the front cover of EVERY newspaper and on EVERY TV channel and on EVERY site in this god dammed world to stop XF having the charts. I HATE having the XF as the Xmas number 1. SO LAME!!!!!!

Does nobody see what's going on there? I'd treat this legitimately if it were 1) a Christmassy song or 2) a new song; but it's neither. To me this reeks of 'we fancy some extra income this Christmas, let's market one of our old songs as being the alternative to the X Factor, people will buy it just to spite Simon Cowell.'
Thumbs down. |
Who the **** is this band?
They`re pathetic little bastards if they think people are going to buy their retarded song over X Factor. This years series has been the most popular, and will be #1 for weeks. That band are full of Brain Dead Prats if they think people will actually support them. I bet that band auditioned for X Factor but didnt get through the first round and they`re just pissed off at Simon and want to beat the show to Xmas #1 X factor will be Christmas #1 every year until the show ends for good. Cant wait to see that bands reaction when they dont even make it into the Top 40 Countdown :joker: |
if you look at all the young girls who buy into the cheryl cole/x factor brand, i think they'll be pretty ecstactic with the song choice. plus the song was pretty popular here, it was in the charts for a while iirc always within the top 20 and was her biggest hit.
the song is clearly aimed at the teenage market no matter how you see it. |
Whoa there Patrick, I'm assuming you're like 13; RATM are actually older than you. That song was released in 1993, they pre-date reality TV.
|
and it's also worth noting that the winners single from most reality contests has always gone to number one, regardless of the date it charted. the hype will crush this campaign.

well you can expect it to enter the top ten then. :p

Zee and Patrick : You both realize this campaign has got nothing to do with Rage Against The Machine themselves?

Anyway, to me the Christmas number one should be something that relates to Christmas time in some way. I don't think that song's any better than the X Factor one; I'd rather see something like the Pogues go to number 1. Hell, even Mariah Carey, just as long as it's not another Simon Cowell Christmas bonus! |
I was thrown by the "Rage Against The Machine are to make a bid" bit at the start of the article, woops!

Actually, now that you mention it, if The Pogues were the song for this campaign, I think it's entirely plausible they could get to #1 again! |

I shall go Youtube one of their videos to see if their any good at all, then i`ll take back what I said in my other post. But I still dont think any band or singer can be Xmas #1 with X Factor 09 Being the most popular series. |

Those yanks never adopted to the Bebo platform with much enthusiasm. I think that's the problem here.

I just gonna spam anywhere and everywhere with this, all my friends on FB just got an invite, sending to all my email contacts now, group has 60000 nearly! Not bad, not bad at all... |
It was on Sky News awhile ago and the last 10,000 or so who have signed up have only done so in the last twenty four hours. And viral things like this typically get bigger as they go along.
