ROFL at Robbie Williams, Outstanding Contributon to music.... really? He had a few decent songs, sulked for a few years because of a crap album and came back with something almost as bad. The man's a has-been

Angels, Let Me Entertain You, She's The One, Feel, Eternity, Rock DJ, Radio, No Regrets, Love Supreme, Something Beautiful, Sexed Up...get out Dean.

Fom 19-01-2010 08:07 AM

Why the hell is Joe nominated? As much as I really like Joe... he didn't have anything to do with that song, nominate him when he has an album and his own single!

Winners songs are generally nominated, I'm pretty sure A Moment Like This, That's My Goal, When You Believe & Hallelujah were all nominated. I assume due to the higher sales.

Shaun 19-01-2010 08:10 AM

Yeah I think the singles are the 10 highest-selling songs. But I still don't understand Alesha's nomination at all. Really poor song.

MarkWaldorf 19-01-2010 08:33 AM

British Single:

The British Single category is supported by commercial radio stations throughout the United Kingdom and The Sun newspaper. The 10 nominated singles have been selected by the greatest volume of commercial radio air-play as well as sales results in the 2009 calendar year. Commercial radio listeners may cast one free online vote for your favourite single within the entire voting period. Any additional votes that you make will be discounted. The winner will be the single which receives the most votes once the vote has closed.

Fom 19-01-2010 08:35 AM

Fair enough, I suppose I would be more annoyed if he won. I really want him to be successful, but I don't want people to go win an award for a song they had no input on.

MarkWaldorf 19-01-2010 08:38 AM

He most likely won't win anyway :( I think Cheryl or JLS will. He'll probably get knocked out in the first few rounds - winner singles usually do.

Those were all pre-Rudebox songs though, his new album is still a load of crap. He was good once but I don't think he compares to Paul McCartney or Pet Shop Boys. He doesn't really deserve it in comparision.

Ones in bold I would prefer to win, ones in italics I wouldn't mind if they won. Very surprised 'I Gotta Feeling' didn't appear in the singles.

Can't pick a performance either.

Yeah I don't think he deserves it, but he's still written more than 'one or two songs'. As for Rudebox...well, Lovelight and She's Madonna aside...fair point.

And Bodies/You Know Me are great too. *humph*

M X 19-01-2010 05:15 PM

Happy for Gaga, Ellie Goulding, Florence and all the rest who really deserve it, but Robbie Williams has not made an outstanding contribution to music really. Shame that Britney & Mariah were snubbed aswell:( Expected Paramore to be nominated for a few aswell but nevermind.

:(

Stacey. 19-01-2010 05:18 PM

Leona Lewis, Taylor Swift, Joe McElderry, Girls Aloud! :)
