This looks cool i will take part in the future.

Shaun 01-02-2010 02:42 PM

The King Blues: - Save The World, Get The Girl - Have heard "I've Got Love" by them before and really enjoyed that song, so I have quite high expectations of this. I like its pop-reggae-ish sound...not as good as the single I just mentioned but it's quite pleasant. - 3pts

KT Tunstall - If Only - I don't know if this is from a new album or whatever. I quite liked her a while ago, I had an English assistant who was in a band with her ages ago. She was fiiiine. Back to KT. This is dull. Sorry. - 2pts

Mew - Snow Brigade - Dezzy doesn't shut the **** up about them most of the time...well now I'm beginning to see why. I really like this. Sort of an Empire of the Sun sound meets Bjork/conventional rock. - 5pts

Martha Wainwright - Bloody Mother****ing Arsehole - I loved her on Set The Fire to the Third Bar with Snow Patrol, but otherwise I don't know much of her. This sounds very Joni Mitchell. Which is always a good thing. - 4pts

Train - Hey, Soul Sister - Christ, volume down please. Sounds like Jason Mraz is going cold turkey. - 1pt

LemonJam 01-02-2010 06:06 PM

Healthy bump. :)

5. Train - Soul Sister [firstly, this hardly needs any attention, it's storming the US charts atm. Anyway I dislike it, they sound Like Jason Mraz but way too try hard]

4. The King Blues - Save the World, Get the Girl [put me to sleep tbh, it got better as it went along but generally I didn't find anything special about it.]

3. KT Tunstall - If Only [I generally like KT, but this is a bit boring tbh. still nice though.]

2. Mew - Snow Brigade [actually, I quite like this which surprised me. in fact I really like it, very cool. might download.]

1. Martha Wainwright - Bloody Mother ****ing Areshole [I;m a Martha fan anyway, have seen her live and was impressed. This is a great song.]

I'm surprised Mew won, didn't expect it to be up many people's streets but I'm glad it did. Will get listening to these ones in a minute.

Shaun 03-02-2010 03:36 PM

Shakespears Sister - Stay - this isn't unknown at all. I know it very well and love it. ****. 3pts

The Wonder Stuff - Here Comes Everyone - I rather like the tune. Never heard of this or them before...but yeah, it's pretty good. 4pts

Livvi Franc - Automatic - you've linked me to this before, Ross :p it's...fine. nothing special. :\ 2pts

The Leisure Society - A Matter of Time - I chose it for a reason. 5pts

Uffie - MC's To Kiss - really grates on me, Gary, you already know that though :p Ouch. 1pt

This can be from an upcoming or underated artist, band or an older musicians song that you think todays listeners should look into.

The Wonder Stuff-5pts
The Leisure Society-4pts
Shakespears sister-3 pts
Uffie-2 points
Livvi Franc-1 point

MrGaryy 03-02-2010 03:49 PM

5. Livvi Frank - Automatik [just generally ****. nothing even remotely new or interesting, completely dull, her voice is pathetic, she didn't even write the song]

4. Shakespear's Sister - Stay [um hello? this was a huge #1 hit. plus the fact I never could stand it.]

3. Uffie - MCs Can Kiss [I would have put this last but I couldn't justify putting it below the aforementioned]

2. The Leisure Society - A Matter of Time [this sent me to sleep tbh. it seemed like the entrie song was a build up and then....fin. it's a nice tune but wouldn't make me listen again.]

1. The Wonder Stuff - Here Comes Everyone [probably the only one I really liked, I enjoyed the whole vibe of the song and it consistently kept me interested through out]

[Please note, that my song is just a bit of fun and me nor the artist are trying to pass it off as a serious piece of music so try and take it for what it is.]

xDramatick 03-02-2010 03:50 PM

Missed the first round, would've given Mew 5, followed by Martha Wainwright though.
eh, voting from now on:

5 points - Shakespeare's Sister;; Stay.
this is one of my favourite songs ever!! i wouldn't say this is unknown, perhaps you shoulda chosen another one of their songs but adore it.

4 points - The Leisure Society;; A Matter of Time.
this is prettyy. i like this sorta music, i don't really listen to enough of it but it was nice. i enjoyed it.

3 points - The Wonder Stuff;; Here Comes Everyone.
i quite like the song, he's got a nice voice, the guitars sound amazing, but i didn't like it as much as the other two.

2 points - Uffie;; MC's To Kiss.
annoying at first listen. it's the sorta music i should like but eh, i'm not keen. perhaps it'll eventually grow on me but for now... no.

1 point - Livvi Franc;; Automatik.
nothing particularly special about it, sounds like your typical RedOne track. doesn't stand out, too generic/dull.

Seeing as the song was released in '92 and alot members on here only listen to music post 2005, I wouldn't say many of the younger ones tbh.

Tom4784 03-02-2010 03:56 PM

5pts:Shaun - The Leisure Society - A Matter of Time
I really liked this a lot.

4pts: Stu - The Wonder Stuff - Here Comes Everyone
I enjoyed it a lot, like Shaun I don't think I've heard of the name or song before but they sound kind of familiar.

3pts: MrGaryy - Uffie - MC's Can Kiss
It's a bit grating but at the same time it's catchy.

2pts: Ross - Livvi Franc - Automatik
I liked it but I kinda forgot about it afterwards.

1pt: Jords - Shakespears Sister - Stay
This is actually a bit of a guilty pleasure song but the only reason it gets one point is because it's not really underrated or unknown. It was like number 1 for 16 weeks on both sides of the atlantic

yeah but it's still a huge classic that is played today at like weddings and **** or on countdown shows and the like. meh, perhaps I'm overestimating today's average listener.

5ptsUffie - MC's Can Kiss
4ptsThe Wonder Stuff - Here Comes Everyone
3ptsShakespears Sister - Stay

1 PtsLivvi Franc - Automatik

That MC's can Kiss Song sounds like The song styles on JSRF

Stu 03-02-2010 04:50 PM

The Wonder Stuff - Here Comes Everyone - Awesome drumming. Nostalgic yet energetic vibe. It's from the guys who done Dizzy with Vic Reeves but this is the type of stuff they should be remembered for. 5 points.

Uffie - MC's Can Kiss - Frenetic pace, sonically busy and full of attitude. I like. 4 points.

Shakespear's Sister - Stay - This camp classic is a bit fodder and I must have heard it a gazillion times on VH1 Classics but whatever, it still has charm. 3 points.

Leisure Society - A Matter Of Time - Nice tune and decent lyrics but not really my thing, what with the whole downtempo sob rock/Scrubs montage vibe. 2 points.

Livvi Franc - Automatik - Sounds like the crunchy, futuristic electropop sound of GaGa's production that I love so much watered down and dragged through a cliche filter. Wholly unoriginal. 1 point.

Also, I would like to be in the next round or whatever next one has open places :).

LemonJam 03-02-2010 09:44 PM
