Oh enid who are you anyway judging people on what they listening to,you listen to what you want as long as you don't mash it in others faces there shouldn't be a problem.

Is it because she was a "Diva" at the TT concerts?

I wouldn't enjoy a song knowing that the people who created it weren't nice. Yeah basically, she refused to perform at 2 shows because they wouldn't let her put up 2 trucks of her lightning and we were stuck in the rain for ages because of it. I can't stand diva's like that.

lol
I think a lot ofit is because she is so passionate about her music/fans though she incurred a 10k fine at the 02 because she wanted do give her fans the best possible show.

Yeah but it wasn't her fans. It was their show, their fans and their big, very expensieve stage. It's not up to her and it was divaish of her not to do it.

Yes i suppose, but i imagine she'd want to put on a big show still either way.
Did you enjoy her performance before the Diva demands?

Actually, refusing to listen to anything other than what's cool this week, because according to them everything else is sh!t, says a lot about a person.

Then again, some of us are just more passionate about music than others.

Why does it say a lot about a person? Whats so bad about listening to whats popular?

There's nothing wrong with listening to what's popular,it's listening to just what's popular. Because there is some amazing music out there that isn't in the charts.

There's nothing bad about it. It's refusing to listen to anything that isn't popular that is the problem, considering most pop music these days sound all the same and requires little to no talent at all.

\PJ/ 01-03-2010 02:08 PM

So if somebody said to you i adore pop music, whould you be straight away be put of by them?

This is typically narrow-minded of the kind of music listeners we're discussing.

Enid isn't saying "pop music" is itself a bad thing, but people ONLY listening to what's in the charts is a bad thing.

InOne 01-03-2010 02:10 PM

Ok, 86% of the forum like shit music. There I said it.

No, because pop music is a very loose term.

The Beatles are pop music, or WERE pop music back in the day. As I said though, some people are just not as passionate about music. Pop is everywhere. On TV, on the radio, online, in shops, so I guess it's pretty easy to become accustomed to pop music, and not bother to look for anything else.

Then that's their problem. Your music makes you happy, their music makes them happy.

And I hate it when people say chart music is ****, as if it's a fact, not an opinion.

Princess 01-03-2010 02:16 PM

It's alright to have pop music as your favourite genre(it's by far my fav genre) as long as you listen to other stuff,or at least see if you like other stuff before you reject everything else. Anyways as Enid said The Beatles were pop and they're one of the best bands of all time.

and one good reason is ...?

Braden 01-03-2010 02:18 PM

I only listen to what is in the charts because I have very poor music knowledge, if I'm honest I have no specific music genre i'm interested in because I only listen to what everyone is else is listening to.

CaraRawr 01-03-2010 02:18 PM

People with good music taste, imo, listen to all music genres and don't just stereotype all songs in a particular one as '****ty' based on one or two songs. I mean, I'm not an RnB fan but I can say that I have heard a few songs that I like even though i'm not rushing out to promte the album or gushing about it at all opportunities.

Stu 01-03-2010 02:19 PM

Sure, you can't say a person who listens to just chart music is a bad person, but they certainly have less of a passion for music than people who have variation and a balanced listening diet.

The fact that Toastee point blank said the charts define what is good and whats not is the depressing type of thought that necessitates threads like these in the first place.
