Under the sea. Under the sea. Darling, it's better, down where it's wetter. Take it from me.

What the **** is it with a film about Blue Cats with Glitter on their faces?

Seriously, how can that film beat a film that was based on a true story were hundreds lost their lifes.

James Cameron must be rolling in money, both his films are the biggest of all time.

Titanic FTW!

I bet they are going to rip the ****ing arse out of Avatar, they are already planning a 2ND one.

ILoveTRW 06-03-2010 09:19 PM

can i just point out that the price of cinema tickets have gone up in the past 10 years

so it is possible that more people still went to watch titanic

Ive been looking at the the best voted films of all time with Citezen Kane topping the vote all the time, followed by the first two Godfather films, Shclindlers List, The Sawshank Redemption and Vertigo.

Is it wrong to say that i didnt get what was so good about Citezen Kane??
And I LoveDC, urmm its not impossible, they can do a remake with different actors. There were three other Titanic movied that were out before the 1997 one, they just werent popular. The ship all sank in them ones.

You have to think of Citizen Kane in terms of the history of cinema, and how Welles created so many new ways of expression, utilising every known method of lighting, cinematography etc, as well as introducing new ways of filming shots. It really was ground breaking for it's time.

True, I was kind of focussing on the actual narrative, but obviously I didnt know about how big it was back then and that they were trying different methods on doing things.

I should actually be looking at stuff like that now, Im a Film Student now so i need to look at all aspects of films such as cinematograpghy, sound and lighting. But as i saw it years ago, I didnt know to look out for that. Talking about cinematograpghy, I got a B talking about the use of cinamatograpghy in the film "Leon".... ohh yeah :)

MeMyselfAndI 06-03-2010 09:26 PM

Titanic is the saddest film i watched in my life

Stephanie 06-03-2010 09:26 PM

Besson's films have a hypnotic effect on me, and that could be do to with his upbringing and love for the sea. There's a beautiful flow to his work, like the ebb and flow water. Watch the Big Blue and you'll see how amazing the man is at shooting in a particular style.

No, the narrative for Cane was fairly groundbreaking too. Welles had never worked on a film prior to this .... he came from a background of theatre.

King Gizzard 06-03-2010 09:29 PM

I done 2 years gcse and 2 years a level of media and film related studies, and ive never had to come across that film lol
