I think it should be 1 day, 2 days, 4 days, 1 week, 1 month, permanent.

Then it gives them 5 chances to sort themselves the fuck out.

And I think if you get a 1 day ban, and afterwards you don't get banned again for about 3 months then it should expire, like they did on the old forum.

That sounds fair enough

Fair.

The only people objecting permabans are the ones who know they wouldn't survive it.

Beastie 29-03-2010 04:39 PM

I have never been banned :joker:

I am quite surprised.. seeing as though someone like Samy has been banned! I have had a few warnings and infractions though. Most have expired though which is good :)

Beastie 29-03-2010 04:40 PM

No permanent bans but maybe increased sentences.

;) I think well the mods and that are probably not that strict.. don't you have to get like 10 warnings or infractions? or 12 of them or something to be banned.. unless you do something majorly disturbing like posting the blue waffle as your avatar! lol

I think the mods and admins have a soft spot for me Patrick ;)

I am probably jinxing myself now.. I think my ban will come when I least expect it!

How many times have you been banned Pat?

WOMBAI 29-03-2010 04:50 PM

The only ones that object are those that keep breaking the rules!

Harry! 29-03-2010 04:52 PM

I have never had a warning ever and I have been here since 2007.

Rules should be stricter on here because so many people get away with too much.

Tom 29-03-2010 09:46 PM

Completely agree. Too many idiots on the forum lately as well as a few long standing members who think they can speak to anyone however they want because they've been here for longer. A certain group of people, ironically the ones who say it would be boring because everyone would banned, make me not really want to come on the site now and I bet there are a few others thinking the same. If they were permanently banned I bet this site would be so much better because more people would want to come on.

Personally I think you should get a warning for each rule break. 3 warnings results in a 2 day ban. Then when you come back, 2 more warnings before a week long ban and then when you come back from that, you can only have 1 more warning before a permaban. Warnings expire after 3 months like the old system.

I think bans have become fashionable lately because they mean nothing.

I mean I'm not taking the moral high ground or anything because I'm not exactly the perfect member either but I think its a mess lately, and it seems to have started when the old system was replaced with this silly infraction leaderboard which people want to be at the top of!

Most of the infractions that are currently given last 90 days.

MrGaryy 29-03-2010 11:07 PM

tbh most of the current crop of regulars wouldn't have lasted on old tibb for half as long.

Iceman 29-03-2010 11:11 PM

never had a ban or infraction to my knowledge, all for people being permabanned MM&I 147

_Seth 31-03-2010 07:45 PM

No way, just have a normal ban last from 3 - 7 days. Longer and longer after than. Then eventually a permaban.

Ramsay 31-03-2010 07:55 PM

ive never been banned:)

MrGaryy 31-03-2010 07:55 PM

UM I THINK TODAY SPEAKS VOLUMES OF HOW THIS IS NEEDED.

k?

The past few days in fact.

Callum 31-03-2010 07:58 PM

I agree, it needs to be brought back. I've seen loads of people who've been banned only to return and act just as bad. It's unfair on the mods as well, I like Jayson's idea of 5 bans and then it's permanent. Otherwise people will just continue to break the rules and that's not setting a good example really is it?

MeMyselfAndI 31-03-2010 08:10 PM

Scarlett. 31-03-2010 08:46 PM

Bans nowadays are more of a 'cool' thing to have, so bringing back the permaban would soon make them uncool
