Why would anyone - male or female - be stupid enough to have a one-night-stand without protection! Drink is no excuse! Anyone that does - is responsible for the consequences - male and female! This whole argument really pisses me off - when men/boys think it is acceptable to say they would do a runner! Disgusting!

Enid 19-04-2010 08:59 AM

Of course both parties are responsible. I don't think anybody has said otherwise. It's a hypothetical situation, I'm sure nobody would actually be that stupid to have a one night stand without any protection!

I wouldn't say alot. Most on here seem like middle class kids who are pretty sheltered really.

Don't have un protected sex and you're unlikely to find yourself in that situation, it's not rocket science.

That rather trivialises the situation though - as many women do not find it an easy decision! Not to mention the process of abortion is hardly pleasant!

It would be easy for me, considering I don't want kids.

At the end of the day, it is the woman's choice to keep the baby or not. Men don't get a say and I feel sorry for the men that are tricked into having a kid, or want to have a baby but the woman gets rid of it anyway.

They can't be tricked if they wear protection themselves though.

Have to disagree with some of that! Men can only be tricked if they don't bother to use protection - their fault! They should have learned by now not to rely on a woman saying she is on the pill - especially on a one night stand/casual relationship! Just common sense! They don't get my sympathy on that one - as they don't deserve it!

If you're with someone who you trust and she says shes on the pill. there shouldn't be a reason not to trust her. Men aren't psychic, they assume women don't want a baby either. It's not their fault if they tricked.

She did say in one night stand/casual relationship though:hugesmile:

No contraception is guaranteed to work either. Yes, if you're promiscuous you should always use protection, but if you're in a more serious relationship with someone, you're gonna trust the other person.

Tricking a man into making you pregnant happens.

Why would you assume anything about a girl you don't even know? That would be pure stupidety on your part, for all you know all she wants is to have a baby and is only sleeping around to get one!

Niamh. 19-04-2010 11:18 AM

not to mention the fact that if it a casual/one night stand thing, a condom is a must for diseases etc. the pill wont protect you from those!

Yes I know it does - but if a man is certain that he doesn't want a baby at that time, or with that woman - he should always use protection! If he is in a long-term relationship with a woman he trusts - but still doesn't want a baby - using protection is extra insurance that it won't happen! Not 100% guaranteed - nothing is - but it you decide to have sex - you live with the potential consequences!

Sorry - don't mean to rant - but too many people, particularly men, attempt to evade responsibility - with no thought for the child!
