Did they get moved out while they were carrying out the works or did he get to stay on site?

Incidentally last night I gained access to the respite flat and have been moving stuff across.

However because of the move it looks like all cooking and preparation of meals at both my flat and the current one are suspended pending the move.

Looks like this weekend as I can not afford takeout, I will have to be on the Breatharian diet :bawling:

Update:

I have got a dongle from Orange and sometime tomorrow according to the people in the shop it should become active for one month.

I pay for the dongle and the council in the form of Your Homes Newcastle pay for the subscription.

As far as the desktop is concerned, as the book cases have to be removed because of the re-wiring, (I am told YHN will put them back along with the shelves), and the nature of the works, some are advising me to brave the rats nest at the back of my computer and remove that to the respite flat as well.

Today somebody from work gave me their old computer table they were using for make up and were going to skip, so it might go there.

I have attached images, of my flat as it is set up, the rats nest and this computer table in the respite flat.

I am hoping the dongle will work, but we all know Murphy's law. I can access this site at work if need be, but I have to be careful as the internet is supposed to be for business use only.

My move date will be Monday 17 May as that is when the packing service arrives along with the person from YHN to over see things. We find her more amenable than the contractors, ROK, of whom there have been many complaints from other tenants.

Ah, lol, maybe not. Its may next year they have to move by...and if they chose not to move back to the refurbished places, they are getting 5 grand...thats the whole estate, and 3 15 story blocks of flats :/

Bet they are hoping noone finds alternative accommodation

This means I will be away from my main desktop PC and broadband for about a month.

I will try and get a dongle for wireless broadband for my laptop but it might mean my internet access is restricted.

If I am not around as much over the next month and a half that is the reason why.

what ashame i hope you come back sooner.

The new computer table looks quite good Sticks.

While this dongle is working, here are images of the respite flat

I wish I could afford to live in a two bedroom flat :bawling: as they seem so nice.

Still no word on when I get to move back, but when I do will it still be home?

sticks.. what's a 'dongle'?

Shasown 22-05-2010 10:48 AM

A dongle is a small piece of hardware that connects to a laptop or desktop computer. It is a portable device and is often close to the appearance of a USB flash drive. Although earlier use of dongles was to authenticate a piece of software, the word dongle is now also widely used to refer to broadband wireless adapters
