Actually I have seen past the clothes and lifestyle, actually I have rarely even thought about the fact she is a squatter until this thread. I've seen her chatting and shes a funny girl. I didn't even like her on the first night, and thought she was strange and over the top so..

Not funny at all, but mentally ill.

Well if you like Shabby, guess it reflects on you as person...

amy-jaynee 16-06-2010 04:43 PM

Yeah along with the rest of the people who like shabby.
So now the people you like on big brother reflect you as a person, I think your looking a little too much into things.

also what Shabby's squat is doing is a freebase (no pun) art thing, nothing to do with homeless, she lives in the squat by choice, I bet if actual homeless people were to turn up they wouldnt be that welcome because they're not arty (or probably bohemian enough)

(for those that remember me from last year - you may remember my hatred of the misuse of that word - Im happy to drag those arguments back a year later - bring it on!)

Shabby's lot arent proper squatters, they are wannabe's within their selective field that are trying to emulate the past, in a society that could frankly do without them.

Let proper squatters squat, theirs nothing wrong with them, but groups like Shabby's give propers squatters a bad name, they are people that arent forced to life the lifestyle but chose to because they think its a social statement. When really they create a bad image for those that are.

Its not even the equivilant of a Punk House.

They have the funds, from where it comes from we can only assume the worst.

I paint, I use acrylic, and I enjoy it. Most of the things I own have traces of paint on it where I have been careless.

Shabby's room is empty - surely then I would be welcomed to move into her room, as its now vacant...

Wheres the address, I am willing to try. Its much better than a £700 a month rent which bleeds me dry.

InOne 16-06-2010 05:44 PM

I've met proper squatters. They are nice down to earth people. Not dodgy Shabby types who do it by choice. The whole point of squatting is you don't have a choice, not to turn it into a crappy art thing.

bansheewails 16-06-2010 05:45 PM

Maybe squatting is the nouveau 'Hippy Chic'.

paper-cut-exit 16-06-2010 05:45 PM

Pretentious nonsense

why wont fashion leave all the good things alone, rather than trying to make peoples lifestyles and choices or forced situations into something cool, and trying to appear cool by doing so.

It p*ss*s me off when my interests and tastes get raped by fashion for a few months/years because its suddenly cool to do so.

Its just a mockery of peoples beliefs and traditions that they will never understand.

Shasown 16-06-2010 05:52 PM

Couldnt agree more, middle class rebel without a clue. If she wanted to help the homeless her and her friends go sleep on the streets and use their connections for publicity, but then they would have to do without all the home comforts of someone elses home and have to endure the elements. Freeloading twats.

Students these days! They no longer know how to protest, ah I long for the 70's and 80's when even your granny took to the street. Organised anarchy makes me laugh, cause the man is always waiting for you!

Bring back the idealism of the 60's I say

Good Music (Beatles, Jefferson Airplane, Doors, Stones etc)
Good Political Leaders (King)
Good Drugs (good n pure Owsley LSD)
and free love.

I grew up in the 80/90s

Spice Girls/Thatcher and Major/Heroin/AIDS

why wasnt I born when my parents were......

Ive been to a few political marches, ruined by people there for a laugh with no belief or conviction.

DIY? Cause I want to.

I went to Greenham Common in the 1980's and waved my sign. Joined CND and did a few marches. Accidently got caught up in Protests in the North in the early 1980's with my Granny (who banged her dustbin lids with the rest of the women!)

Never wore a mask, or hurt anyone but made my voice heard. My mum wouldn't let me go to help the miners tho cause I was only 14, but Jesus I did hate Maggie thatcher!

Society has become a parody of itself. And people think the 'Shabbys' of the world is actually, a good way to think and life. She has an awful attitude towards life.
