The man himself is French, but the samples are from old, beaten up vinyls he picked up while on a trip to Vietnam. I decided to buy the album, because I wanted to get into more turntable music similar to the late, lamented J. Dilla.

Gang Starr are all right. Check some of their stuff out cuz its not as hardcore as most stuff. And, with DJ Premier behind the desk the beats are always great.

I remember them doing this live on the Word. The three of them were on three podiums and throughout the performance they kept jumping from podium to podium. It sounds naff but it was actually really cool.

People criticise the Word but forget they had some great musical performances..
