theres a website dedicated to fairground accidents at a glance on the homepage it looks like theres about 30 accidents so far just this year its pretty frightening and its put me off a bit just reading a few of them. The travelling fairgrounds scare me more than themeparks because if you have to dismantle a ride then rebuild it once a week every week over and over again your going to get complacent about it eventually and not pay full attention to what your bolting together for the 30th time that year.

i think the worst story i heard is the batman ride at six flags in america, some kid dropped his hat in a restricted area and he jumped a barrier to get the hat but the ride came back and actually chopped his head off  it sounds far-fetched but its actually true! google it

I heard that one too :(

Never been on a rollercoaster of any significant size... and like, this is why!

Never been on a plane either.... scared! (But with good reason...) But, ever think I need to jump in the fast lane and do something rebelious? xD

Some girl fell out of a ride at a fair we have in hull every year, she didnt die though but she landed on someone when she fell out and i think they both got paralyzed

We have that at our fair... it's scary shiz man! (I look around fairs, and do not go on anything :P)!

At our fair this year, they had this ride that was a 2 seater seat, and there were about 10 attatched to the centre thing. It bounced around really hard and pretty fast, proper making the people get jarred up and down, and this lad fell off it and broke his leg, arm, and hurt his neck very badly... :( I was there at the time, saw the ambulance pull up, but didn't see it happen! I think he's on the road to recovery now though... x

These things in the UK are supposedly regulated by the HSE

The only one I know of is the Oakwood incident on the Hydro ride where a girl fell out of her seat when she was on the top because she wasn't fastened in properly. I know a boy that was there that day and her shoe had come off as it happened and hit him on his head so knocked him out :(

i once went on that ride at drayton manor the one that goes up the drops u and they started it but forgot to put the belt on so they had to bring it down

I was in Blackpool the week that boy fell from the bobsleigh ride, we visited Pleasure Beach the day before and 2 days after the accident and saw all the police and the tape and stuff. Terrible.

I remember that girl falling from a GREAT height in Oakwood on that log flume ride, awful incidents!

Kind of off-topic but I could have been killed by the result of a rollercoaster... the loop-the-loop ride in Blackpool (where you go forward then backwards around that big loop). Well I was only small at the time and was watching it from underneath the loop when a camera (the big, beefy disposable ones) flew off someone on the ride and hit me in the head knocking me out and gashing my head along the top!!

BAD TIMES.

In 1976, a woman filed a lawsuit claiming one of the Three Little Pigs ran up to her at the "it's a small world" attraction, grabbed at and fondled her while exclaiming "Mommy! Mommy!" She claimed to have gained 50 pounds as a result of the incident and sued Disney for $150,000 in damages for assault and battery, false imprisonment and humiliation. The plaintiff dropped charges after Disney's lawyers presented her with a photo of the costume, which had only inoperable stub arms.
