lmao, loved the fact that Steve's rage was mentioned 3 times in this HL, even as a reason for a nom... the rage that most didnt even know happened because they didnt show it .

The edit in this show is so sh1t, seriously.

I thought Nathan came across badly as did Ife who has now been found at least.

As for Steve I'm quite disappointed if there was more that wasn't shown because we have seen so very little. We can debate Ben back and forth but we see enough to form an opinion, but we see so little of Steve and what I saw tonight I didn't like.

You actually saw nothing, he went absolutely MENTAL and his language would have scandalized many a Sergeant Major!

I did notice this and it only goes to prove that you were right on this point. And it would be good if someone could get it but i doubt they could.

Lets not even talk about Corin the screaming harridan in full flow right?

They showed the bare minimum of her, just enough to justify the argument.

Pathetic tbh, they think we are morons and treat us accordingly.

The pro Ben whitewash is no less real Pix, its just that this was one big event so you clearly saw it.

Ben's has been more spread out, but the cut has been easily as biased to BB's agenda for him.

Yeah he did throw a wobbly, but I dont think it would have scandalised a sergeant major(incidentally it is great to see someone spelling sergeant correctly ).

Not only does it give Steve a good edit, but it also reduces the effect of Corins rant and also Nathans given that they both used Steve as the excuse for their rants.

But the biggest manipulation was so blatant yet at the same time so subtle next to no one picked up on it. The task that led to the party was a wheelchair basketball task, one of Steves sports where housemates were used to show what difficulties Steve has had to overcome to use a wheelchair as he does.

Naturally housemates were making comments about how hard Steve has had it in having to use a wheelchair and how hard basketball becomes if you are stuck in a wheelchair etc. Even if it doesnt register on a conscious level, it still slips in to the subconscious how awesome big Steve is.

Shouldnt wonder there will be a dry yachting task just before the final to further manipulate the voting public.

So Steve is expected to be some quiet, humble, invisible man - not allowed a voice - not supposed to get angry and throw a wobbly like everyone else in there! What the hell has age got to do with it!

I knew nothing of this. Surely showing Steve rage is a big part of the day and must make the HM show. Not showing it shows unfair bias toward him. TBH I dont blame them too much and to give him a good edit is good for the show, but as Stonedape mentioned showing the rage would have probably led to 'Steve finally did something, we love this army hero' threads. I agree with Vessie, the editing is insulting . Surely the viewers are sophisticated enough to make their own minds up.

He's a tattooed ex-soldier in the father role: people are expecting it. Just like your Ben's whitewash argument, I think half of those could be argued the other way. Would you want Steve edited as your enemy? End of the day, it's an hour show, many subtleties or whole plot points have to be cut, the ones you notice are the ones you're looking for.

This is the winning post!:thumbs::dance2:

As I have said all along Steve is only in there so the media can start a massive campaign to get behind him as an war hero. They love a cause and BB will get a good decent pay days as he picks up nominations and is eventually put up or in the final week if he is still there. Papers will push for support and people will vote even if they dont watch purely because of his injuries and history.

He's never put on an act? or made a point of being a war hero?

Infact he's never claimed to be one?

Haha, yeah glad to have him around.

He's kind of a perv actually. He's made sexual comments about girls in the house that were inappropriate on several occassions, among other things.

I was creeped out during the puppet task when he made that comment about his puppet wanting to touch Corin's boobs, not really appropriate thing for a middle aged, married father to say IMO...

Mojo, this has nothing to do with 'hate' for a particular HM, or getting rid of them, it is about talking as adults about how BB are taking us for morons in their edits.

One of the main reasons they can do this is because of the squabbling about different HMs, while we ignore the one thing we should all care about... Seeing an honest and evenly represented as possible picture of all the HMs in order to make up our own minds on them.

fruit_cake 07-07-2010 11:44 AM

i guess when you had your arms and legs blown off and eaten by a dog, BB is probably rather dull and uninteresting

I agree. Mario nominated Steve because of his aggressive behaviour and shouting. Why didn't they show this on the HL show? I think BB want Steve to go all the way and are purposely not give him bad viewing.
