I think that TiBB is a great forum, and there arent any "know it all" people who put you down if you get something wrong...if ya get what i mean.

Id say its a friendly forum in the main.

Its just that during the time BB is on air, we do get a few oddballs like guttridge, or people who just put 'lolz' as their post.

I think the forum's doing fine, personally. All forums pick up the occasional oddball or troll, but right now most of the members here are really nice and friendly.
I don't know why you used guttridge as an example, he's been gone for a while now, or is it because you can't think of anyone else to back up your claims?:rolleyes:

Ditto. I've only been here since before BB5 started but I think it's an ace forum - the best BB forum for sure.

I've only been here since the summer, as you can see. I can't speak for how the forum used to be, but I can say that in the short time I have been here there have been moments when I felt like logging off and staying off - mostly due to idiots/trolls/troublemakers.

The reason I keep coming back is because the folk on here who do contribute something worthwhile make up for the eejits who don't. To use Guttridge as an example of anything except being a bit "special" is pointless. He was truly one of a kind, and in all the forums I have been in, I don't think I have encountered anything quite like him.

Kore mentioned the racist accusations. Those were in full flight when I joined this place, and I was in danger of being banned within my first 24 hours here, because I got into a 'debate' with someone who was hell bent on accusing me of being racist/bigoted/sexist/homophobic within 5 minutes of meeting me, just because I expressed my dislike for one housemate who just happened to be coloured! I responded with one of my trademark rants (which have calmed somewhat since settling in here).

I now just ignore the fools, because they do inevitably go away..some sooner, some later. They seem to be few and far between at the moment, but I expect there will be a large influx of new fools when BB7 starts. Then we will have to sift through the sh!te and try to converse with those who actually have a point to make.

But, in general I would say that this is a really good forum, and there are a small-ish bunch of regs who all know and love (sometimes :laugh:) each other. Even though we don't always agree, we manage to keep it civilised.

The moderators are quick to respond when someone is being an ar$e, or disrupting the flow of the threads. And, they even let me off with my masked swearing, as you can see :thumbs: ...

To sum up: I like it here. You're not getting rid of me that easily!

What exactly is a 'troll' on a forum?

Ive heard this many times, but Ive no idea what it is!

It's someone who posts soully to get attention, specifically the negative kind.
A troll might use txt speak on a forum where it is banned, use racist or homophobic insults, or post porn in a forum which has underage members. A few trolls I've come across even pretended to be a pregnant male, the second coming of Jesus Christ, and possessed by Satan.:rolleyes:

I agree the forum has changed a lot - I dont think that change means bad though! Change is good, if everything stayed the same we would all be very bored and the site would cease to exist.

Go with the flow the members of the site are a great bunch and you can be sure if you need to talk you will get a bucket load of advice and support! where else would you get that from strangers?

I love it here and think that changes should be seen in a positive vein :thumbs:
