Yes. Strip it down, make it more low key. 10 HMs only bring in a new hm if someone goes early on. A few little twists here and there but nothing big. give them the odd party with alcohol for birthdays.

the only thing op has provided is a report that says he thinks there are better options than bb for c5.

I think he was only quoting what the press have written. I think it's pure speculation.

None of the links that have been posted as sources say anything like the title of this thread suggests.

where is that from what is the source?

I think your thread title is a bit misleading. :)

That won't ever happen. I think channel 5 should take over bb.. a new format.. well same format.. just better housemates. 24 7 live feed should still be shown.. on internet or whatever.. but like maybe they should just have like.. an 8 week series of BB. 2 months could be long enough.. make it more into a gameshow????? like BBUSA?

It won't work! The hms will get bored and just leave. I agree that just put in 10 hms to start off with.. have an 8 week series.. have PLENTY of tasks, twists and games..... and give them plenty of parties and booze!!!!

oops thanks jan just spotted it i apoligise to the op for that but he still goes on to say on page 2 of the report that big brother is tired and there are other options that could be better for channel 5.

iRyan 19-07-2010 11:33 PM

If anything, it needs a newer format not the one from 2000 that is way outdated.

Who says Davina wouldn't present it if it was on another channel?

Beastie 19-07-2010 11:35 PM

who cares about the ratings.. channel 5 are not known for high ratings!!!! BB just needs to be on for a shorter amount of time.. with plenty of stuff to do!!!!!

No Davina is wishfull thinking

iRyan 19-07-2010 11:37 PM

BB could potentially be better on Channel Five, I would imagine they would take alot of care of it and do great advertising. Plus, it's it supposed to be bought by the guy who runs Ok!, Daily Star, etc? That means they show could potentially get ALOT of tabloid and press coverage, even more than what it currently has...

Zippy 19-07-2010 11:42 PM

When have CH5 ever done a show any favours and made it popular?

Never.

I hope so i would like to see it happen it would probably come down to how much endemol are asking for them to let c5 show bb because they ripped channel 4 off big time last time it came up for renewal sky and itv were trying to snap it up so they made c4 pay over the odds for it but this time its got to cost a lot less fingers crossed for c5.

Mr Neutral 19-07-2010 11:46 PM

BB on channel 5 wouldn't be worth watching.

It would ruin things completely!

How so?

Tom4784 20-07-2010 12:08 AM

It's only a short term solution which will kill the show completely, it's best for it to die for a few years and come back restored.

That's if any of this is true.

Exactly... live feed starting after midnight instead of 10-30pm like it used to do shows C4 really don't value this show anymore. FFS give 5 a chance before you condemn it, they didn't do too badly with 'Back to Reality' and 'The Farm' so look on the bright side, at least it's a lifeline that could save the show... :bouncy:

Again C5 is a short term solution, none of it's programming does really well and it has a lower audience watching then C4 which means tighter budgets and less risks, if it underperforms it'll be cancelled and then it'll die as no one will take up a show that's been cancelled on two different channels.

Believe me, let it rest for a few years and have C4 take over it again, it's a much better prospect.

Jords 20-07-2010 06:06 AM

Maybe Big Brother could gain channel 5 popularity? I still think it should get a year break at least.

watchinittoomuch 20-07-2010 10:52 AM

Are we talking about Richard Desmond, who own the Express and Daily Star newspapers?

Used to run a massive top shelf mag empire?
