And if you want to see more of Ben (who I think was one of the best HMs this year) he will be playing a bit part (he actually talks at one stage) on 'Ladette to Lady' on Tuesday night (10th August). The programmes is from 10.35pm to 11.35pm on ITV1. We (fans) should see him at some point as the Ladettes have to invited posh boys out for a dinner and Ben will be one of them. However BB HL show is on Channel4 from 10pm - 11.10pm so, if you can, maybe you could tape the 'Ladette to Ladys' and watch later. Ben was the best and all the rest pale into nothing more than 'wanabees.'

It depends on what sort of show. If it's just a run-of-the-mill-ten-a-penny-Charlotte-Church-type chat show - forget it.

If it's something along the lines of him holding a dinner party with his fabulous friends and minor celebs it might be worth doing. Something on his own turf or in his favourite resturants, talking about food, celebrity and politics.

I'd watch.

fingers 07-08-2010 10:40 PM

Hands up if you think he got more than a McDonalds voucher for a Burger with small Fries for that "sketch".

joeysteele 07-08-2010 10:42 PM

My hands up,figers.

Agreed,
Ben is something different. Ben transcended BB and you may well call his time on BB a 'guest appearance'.
He was a 'Celebrity Hijack' on the BB11 season.

There are few BB Housemates I would and will watch in their own series. One was BB9 Luke who I thought would have a decent career as a sort of political 'pundit' and commentator.

Ben is someone who ought to have his own program, his own chat show and I will not miss it.
He can also do very well in the USA and abroad.
Ben doesn't need to be relying on 'BB11 Ben' either. In fact he would be popular and watched by people who never even knew he was on BB11.

I do think it's funny how many people here are guffawing and chortling over this.
They don't 'get it' and probably never will.
A big future for Prince Ben.

There seem to be quite a few people in the business who disagree with you.

The cringeworthy bit starts at 23.50 - and it IS cringeworthy!

Thanks for the vid, watched it all, and didn't find any of it cringeworthy. Ben was having a laugh, and I enjoyed watching it. What's more he'll have the last laugh when he gets his own show:wink:

I don't think Ben cares about your opinion since the decision won't be up to you now will it?

Why should Ben conform to some stereotypical view of what he should and shouldn't be doing? I dare say when he has made his mark he will be able to pick and choose what he does, but till then you take the breaks where you can. Ask anyone famous what stuff they had to do in their early days to get noticed - there's probably a lot they'd prefer to forget!

fingers 08-08-2010 10:00 AM

...and Beninem will be up there with the Worst of them!!!!

Unfortunately I think that it is in their contract that they have to do certain appearances after coming out of the house. That was cringeworthy to watch and not at all the Ben I enjoy watching.

Ammi 08-08-2010 10:34 AM

I'm now starting to see the 'silver lining' of Ben being evicted. We can now look forward to seeing him on the screen permanently instead of just for the summer. Will John James or Josie fans have that to look forward to - what a joke. Ben is a gentleman and has pure quality - I will never tire of him

I doubt anyone can actually get any lower than appearing in the BB house, where people get to watch you 24/7 warts and all. Personally, I think the end justifies the means, and it seems to be paying off for Ben, so good luck to him. The only ones who are miffed about it are the supporters of HMs whose only claim to fame will be to get their bits out for the mags.

HBB1508 08-08-2010 11:38 AM

Love Ben and I really hope he is on our screens more and more - I think he was lucky to get out of the house when he did - now we get to see more of him - a true gent.

MojoNixon 08-08-2010 12:24 PM

I'm not Ben fan, but i did not hate him either. He is OK.

Even though it marked the beginning of the end for BB11 it was, in retrospect, better for him to leave when he did and is much more entertaining as a commentator and celebrity guest.
Really hoping to see him get some sort of 'travelogue' type of program and I suppose it could be a format of a 'chat show' but I think he shines visiting unique locations or new restaurants,
and/or,
some remote interview/participation.
Even a sort of Louis Theroux type of format could win big for Ben.

Whatever it is (and not including puerile BBLB humiliation skits) but whatever it is I will be watching and supporting the sponsors too.
