Most UK spiders species are harmless, their fangs wont penetrate human skin. 80% of accidrntal spider bites dont have venom injected anyway. Spider bites are no more painful than bee stings to most people, they sting and then itch over a couple of days.
While its true some more dangerous spiders do come in from overseas with shipments of bananas etc, these cases are very rare. Scorpions also find their way to the uk via this same route, rule of thumb with scorpions is the smaller the pincers the more dangerous the sting. Use a glass to capture your spider and a piece of paper or card to slide under the glass to move the spider out of the house if you want to. Fly spray will kill them in the same way it does with flies. |

Ok, so I've avoided my room all night, got about an hours sleep. Mum and dad just came home and my dad cleaned out my whole room looking for this spider, he didnt find it. So my mum began walking upstair and i turned to her and went, very seriously, 'watch oot, theres a spider aboot.' Im in bed now, terrified.
