Hence my argument to bobnot's point, which was:

So no, it's not John's fault that it can't be live much anymore, it's the fault of OFCOM and this overly PC society

That's why... :xyxwave:

It isn't being overly "PC" at all...

The "F" word is accepted as a strong profanity, as is most swearing so of course it isn't going to be allowed of daytime TV when children can be watching...

Do you think porno's should be shown at lunchtime on BBC 1 too??

So no, you can blame them - because they implement the rules.

Depends what time it is on,IF it's before the watershed then i would prefer my kids not to hear his swearing, our kids hear enough swearing in life,so let the Aussie moron go home and swear all he likes and influence the Aussie kids.To not be able to string a sentence together without swearing shows a complete lack of self control.

LOL. I love this assumption people continually seem to make. What an over exaggeration.

There's a big difference between a four letter word being said and an over exaggerated, completely sexualised, false portrayal of sex being shown.

A) People swear in front of each other
B) Generally, people do not have sex in front of each other

Regardless of that, if it were for educational purposes, I would see no problem with sex being shown on TV.

A four letter word that people constantly get pissy over, is not something that we should all be spitting our dummies out for.

Exactly. So it is going to make the slightest bit of difference? No, no it isn't.

It's a four letter word. Plain and simple, really.

Have you:

A) Never heard of an accident?
B) Realised that it's just a word, and that really, there are far more important things in life to be worrying about? Surely?

I swear yes, but not infront of young kids... and young kids could be watching TV at that time of day...

Once again, it didn't offend me at all.... I am just saying that it is not overly PC & silly to not allow swearing on daytime TV...

I have no problem with swearing (or sex) on TV, but it needs to be at an appropriate time...

Shardlake 22-08-2010 12:41 PM

At the end of the day 'thems the rules' and it is the law, and is the reason we have a watershed in this country.

Simple as that.

If you cant obide by the rules of society then you arent going to get very far

For the 20 th time Angie I don't care that he swore on TV, it doesn't bother or offend me in the slightest...

I was replying to Jack's remark that swearing should be allowed on daytime TV & that we are overly PC in not allowing ******* to be said on daytime TV...

I was merely pointing out that swearing on TV in general should only be allowed after 9pm as children shouldn't hear it...

So well done in trying to wind me up but you were very much mistaken in what I was saying on this thread, I couldn't care less what John James said... :xyxwave:

Why though?

Putting restrictions on such things only encourages people to do it more, a bit like when you see a 'Wet Paint' sign and you want to touch it, when you know you shouldn't, and it also teaches people that it's wrong. And is sex wrong? No, no it isn't. So why should it be portrayed as that?

And swearing is only 'wrong' if you are the type of person that likes to get pissy over a four letter word, really. Personally, to quote John "I couldn't give a rip"...because, really, it's just a four letter word. There's far worse things like paedophiles, murderers and rapists that I would try my best to protect my children from. Honestly, a four letter word that they're going to end up saying at some point in their life is not the biggest of my concerns, nor should it be for anyone. It's not going to kill them...

Jords 22-08-2010 12:46 PM

Its just shows what a big head he is. I dont care about swearing but people who found it funny are very easily pleased...

Some people only care about themselves and what they want, they don't care what influences our kids get from immature morons who think it's ok, and cool to swear infront of kids,No wonder kids are like they are today,no morals and no disapline

lol ..."trying to wind you up". People who disagree with you have "ulterior motives" and want to bait you. zzzzzzz
Sorry mate... I just disagree with you because.... your wrong and seem unable to argue your own point. No need to question my motives for having a different opinion from yours.... more sad deflecting.
