Looks cheaper than previousones and doesnt seem to have the same feel.

As that the same guy/girl from number 4?

I loved the first one, prefered the second, disliked the third, and hoped the fourth would redeem the franchise but sadly it didn't.

But this time I'm more excited about this one for numerous reasons. The new writer is Eric Heisserer who wrote the Nightmare on Elm Street remake, which I'm told was one of the better remakes of recent years. The director is Steven Quale who worked with James Cameron and has a better understanding of 3-D films than David R. Ellis did on Final Destination 4. And Tony Todd from films 1 and 2 is returning. :D

My only criticism is its working title of '5Nal Destination' but maybe that'll change.

The nightmare on elm street remake was not a good movie lol.

It currently holds a 13% approval rating on rottentomatoes.com

Nowhere near a good remake.

They raped one of my fave films

Looks awful. Bad actors and a bad done to death plot.

Why did they call the last one 'The Final Destination' if they planned on making more.

Ending spoiler: They all die! :o

Kill or be killed, I like the sound of the direction it's going in. Slasher/supernatural.

Yepp, makes a change from trying to save everybody!

I think it looks great (well, the graphics for the suspension bridge collapse not so much) but I love the series.. the 4th with the head-to-head water death scene which you didnt know who was gonna die I thought was a great idea.

The eye laser surgeory clip :/

It looks darker and basic like the first 2 and nope, it's not the same people. I think the aim is to forget Final Destinations 3 and 4 ever happened.

Lol I posted that in August and I still haven't seen the Nightmare On Elm Street remake. Someone else told me it was good but fair enough if it's generally panned.

Marketing. Like how Saw 5's tagline was "You won't believe how it ends" thus a lot of people who didn't know a 6th one had bene greenlit since the 3rd assumed the fifth one would be the last. Although apparently THE Final Destination was intended to be the final movie but then it turned out to be the most commerically successful.

Plus I think having Tony Todd back might make this one more connected with the first 2. And the "Kill or be killed" angle is refreshingly dark.

Totally. Will definately be interesting to see how it pans out. Tony Todd said if FD5 is a hit then a 6th and 7th would be filmed back-to-back. Hopefully they'd be original as well.

That was probably one of the few good moments of the 4th movie because the viewer didn't know which one it would be. And again, the idea of the survivors looking as if they're turning on one another is delightfully different and dark

wtf, they said FD3 was the last, then they brought out another one called "The Final Destination" which was supposed to be the last, now another one? wtf?

Like I said, THE Final Destination (2009) was marketed as the last and apparently was going to but despite the negative reviews made the most money out of them. Also, originally it was just going to be titled Final Destination 4 or at one point, Final Destination: Death Trip 3-D

Remember Final Destination 2's tagline was "Everything that has a beginning has an end" but that was referring to the storyline as 2 was a direct sequel to the first one whereas films 3 and 4 are pretty stand-alone.

Trailer 2. Enjoy.

Yeah, as much as I loved the first 2 there was still a bit of black humour about the deaths e.g. Sean William Scott's lol. IMO the problem with 3 and 4 were that it became more deliberately comedic like they were less about story and simply for grusome deaths and OTT accidents at the start of the film.

I'm still looking forward to this new one because A) Tony Todd's back meaning it is a sort of continuation to the first 2, and B) it'll be interesting and darker to see the survivors try and kill each other rather them help each other this time round. :D

'Conor 11-07-2011 11:03 PM

its still stupid though about the name of the 4th one is THE FINAL DESTINATION but its not really cause theres a 5th one? like wtf

Its great that theyre going down a different route :D

The second trailer looks amazing :amazed:
Always find they reveal too much though... whens it coming out?

Like I said, that's how it was marketed. It was either that, 'Final Destination 4' or 'Final Destination: Death Trip 3-D'

Would've prefered if this one had a more original title but glad it isn't '5Nal Destination' after all

Jords 11-07-2011 11:07 PM

I always liked the idea of a continuation from the Final Destination 3's ending.

'Conor 11-07-2011 11:08 PM

i loved No.3 :)

True. I don't wanna rewatch the trailers too much in case I spoil it for myself. August 12th in the US I believe :)

A train disaster would've been great. Better than the race crash in no. 4 anyhow.

I think I disliked 3 cos it had a 'Oh here we go again' feel to it. It's as if it deliberately dumbed down and lightened up to just be an enjoyable popcorn movie than a horror/thriller that makes you think about life and death

I saw FD2 first then FD3 and never really got that feeling probably because of that, after watching FD1 you could tell they had lost originality and were just focussing on tragic accidents like you said though. However I think FD4 was a bit different as it focussed on preventing the particular accident as the clues with given vividly and this new film looks to be very different from them all.

I love these films!!! They're brilliant :D

Imma bookmark this page and quote everything that has been said with pure excitement and a little tiiiiiny bit of jizz

Marc 27-07-2011 06:55 AM

Haha I literally don't care about 4 having been called The Final Destination, I can never get enough of these random ways of dying :D LOL I know I'm a sicko!

I like the twist to this film, kill or be killed. It never happened really in the previous films, everybody was all about saving other people! However in the first film the guy who drove onto the train track pretty much was trying to kill everybody :P
