I don't know how many times i've had to say this, but I know the producer of this show as he's a family friend and I am 100% telling you that The Real World is not even fake or staged in any way, shape, or form. They are never told what to do or say on camera. The show is literally a documentary of the lives of a group of strangers picked to live in a house. There is no interaction with the camera crew and they are not allowed to talk to the housemates.

This was the case a one point, the many recent seasons have been the polar opposite of that. Have you seen the Brooklyn and DC shows? Completely different from other recent seasons as they more follow the housemates dreams and goals in life rather than drama and sex. But there's nothing wrong with drama and sex! Hello, that's exactly what Big Brother UK was (BB5).

Oh, and quite a few of them have attempted to break into acting and they had TERRIBLE acting skills, which proves that they definitely are not acting on the show.

Only exception would be Jamie Chung from RW San Diego who's done quite a few big movies.

Once again ... that would be why Wikipedia has absoloutely no sections devoted to The Real World's apparent realism, right?
