I hate Rebecca's voice. To me that is not singing, it's putting ridiculous strain on your voice as well as a silly American accent to try and sound like an older woman with soul. She's from Liverpool - she doesn't have soul. I hate the fact that so many contestants feel the need to put this American accent into their singing - it sounds ****ing stupid.

For good or for bad Cher has been the star of the show so far this year, and Katie has divided public opinion just like Jedward did. |

Seriously though, if we are to believe that the visa issue was true (and xf producers deny it), then why did Cheryl act her way through telling Gamu she hadn't made it on ability alone? Truth is that Cheryl 'appeared' to care more about Tracey C and the others who didn't survive her cull. |

Katie was a very poor choice because she messed up ALL of her auditions but i think it's time to just let it go... I personally would have put through Kerri. |

She's got a fantastic voice and you can still hear her accent imo. |
I don't get this 'she had tonsillitis' for goodness sake, okay that would have impeded her voice but it wouldn't stop her 'performing' the song and showing she could remember the words at least.
She only had to sing for barely 2 to 3 minutes, she hadn't lost her voice, she didn't have laryngitis, nothing in Tonsillitis would stop her at least performing the song, allowances could have been made that her voice would not be as strong as usual due to tonsillitis but people make hour long speeches with Tonsillitis. In a University, any student saying I cant make my presentation today because I have Tonsillitis would be laughed out the room. It was hardly a taxing song she had, and she could have kept ini the soft area of her voice but still performed the thing. She stood there and did nothing at all. Therefore failed by herself not due to Tonsillitis. |

Katie has spoken of being friends with presenter Dermot O'Leary's radio producer Simon Ward. In another interview, conducted when she had her own reality show, she claimed ex-judge Sharon Osbourne - now helping Louis Walsh - had praised her singing after seeing her perform. Katie also joined singing binman Andy Abraham on tour after he was a runner-up in the show's second series. X Factor bosses came under pressure to disqualify her when it emerged she'd signed a US record deal under the name Lola Fontaine. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...r-madness.html She had a realitly show?! |

There is no comparison at all with Jedward and these 2 no hopers. JEDWARD had massive enthusiasm, energy and determination to be noticed, they have a charisma and personality that pulls you to watch them, 'even' if you aren't keen on them.
They took on everything that they were asked/told to do in boot camp, judges house and the 'live' shows. These 2 girls showed not one single element of all of those things. |
Rebecca's a dark horse, I can see her pulling a Alexandra, putting in good performances but largely goes unnoticed until a few weeks before the end. I'd currently say she's my favorite although I'm waiting for the first live show to decide properly.

She's good at putting on this fake voice of hers, but for me it's just a complete turn off. I'd rather people sing with their accents - this is a dig at most of the other acts in the competition and British artists in general, not just Rebecca! Although my comment was made slightly in jest, where she comes from actually has a lot of relevence when talking about soul music. The origins of this music are a far cry from her hometown. "It adds to the charm"? You may be right there - she seems like a nice albeit timid girl - but this really has no relevence to the soul music she attempts to sing as she doesn't even try to put through her personality into a performance.
