She's famous globally coz she got lucky and landed a major film role. Not really on the back of her AI fame either as she got voted off fairly early.

And musically she certainly aint a big global star who sells millions.

alot more of the american idol contests have really successful careers in American than the ones you named. Just because you're not aware of them doesn't mean they're not out there being successful.

This. Katherine McPhee has done well, Taylor Hicks has performed with Snoop Dogg, Clay Aitken has done well too.

Rebecca is a bit too retro. She might produce an Amy Winehouse type album but it'll be difficult for her to have a long term career in the industry.

She might win. But it matters not because, as you say, she will get signed up. I'll be one of the first to buy her album.

The Americans might lurve her!!

It'll be her or Cher that wins it, Cheryl always tends to win in the end even last year when she made godawful decisions all the way through. Matt's running out of steam and early favourites never win so I'd say It'll be one of the two girls or One direction at a push that'll win.

Nahh She'll win, unfortunately.

I think you are drawing the wrong conclusions from what little you have heard from Rebecca. Have you heard her dance/club track, details in this thread:
http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/foru...d.php?t=165801

Once you hear it, you'll realise that Rebecca's voice isn't just unique but also incredibly versatile and she is definitely going to enjoy a long term career in the industry, imo.

You realise that video's been removed due to a copyright claim..? I clicked on your thread before but the video had been taken down.

Well her profile has risen over the past two weeks , due to her sheer talent. No gimmicks needed (see, Cheryl?). Music insiders/artists/judges/press have all been positive. By a bit 'too retro' I presume Girth means the Blues/jazz influences that Rebecca obviously has. I think she could have great longevity if handled properly.....one or two of the others may have a burst of fame and then quickly diminish, as the next 'new thing' emerges.
Can she win though? Its a tough year. Matt,Cher,One Direction, Mary all have support too, thats obvious. Aiden and even Wagner are being backed too. Any other year, and she would have been a cert for the final. On TALENT she should make it but.........still early days.

Of course I realise. After following my link, the video contained within was removed a while ago. But you can still find the tune on YouTube - obviously, I didn't add a link to that as I understand copyright rules.

She came 2nd But she is the true winner really just like Rhydian was. Infact she's even better than Rhydian. How could people say that she won't win. This page must have been started by Justin Beiber fans
