You seem to be severely underestimateing how much the judges love aiden here! She would never stay in a sing off with him!

Hmm... here is the problem (for Aiden) is that Katie is no better or worse when she has to 'sing for her life'.
Aiden is dreadful and seems to be barely holding it together.. desperately holding it together after a week of rehearsing,
and,
looks close to an emotional breakdown after preparing.

so in a 'sing off' I can't imagine him doing anything else but torturing us to death.

Then the judges have to wriggle through using 'overall' principles instead of 'based on what they saw tonight'.

Yeah I wonder what would happen. I think its possible she could survive it somehow.

Z 08-11-2010 03:15 AM

I think at this stage the only person Katie could survive against now would be Wagner; as she's the only act left in the competition who has been in the bottom two before (three times now) and Wagner's the only act in the competition who she could credibly survive against without the show becoming a complete debacle.

Yet somehow Wagner escapes being in the bottom 2 week after week, so that scenario won't happen:D I can see the campaign to keep him in stepping up a gear after this latest fiasco - the public is seriously being taken the p*** out of.

,[QUOTE=Novo;3898487]When will the haters ever learn! Katie is going on to win!

Fact, in all the series of X Factor, no one who has been in the bottom 2 has ever gone on to win the show, that's because the votes for them are at best just enough to keep them out the last 2 or at worst has them in there.

So someone who has been judged by the paying voting public to have been so terrible and unpopular to have to be out, in the bottom 2, for 3 times in 5 weeks hasn't a hope of winning the series.

In the sing offs they get the chance to sing a song they want to,so you see more of their natural talent and still Katie still gets put in the bottom 2 again and again.
The only thing she may 'win' on X Factor if she stays in again this coming week, is the title for being in the bottom 2 more than any other act ever.

I hate spoiling people's dreams but to the voting public of X Factor,Katie is a nightmare to them and they want rid of her.

joeysteele 08-11-2010 08:10 AM

Dannii and Louis would never vote Aiden out if he was ever in the bottom 2 unless he was against Matt. Also, Aiden would never get the least number of votes in a week in my opinion, so I can't see Aiden in any bother at all.

Katie will be public enemy number one as to the X Factor after Saturdays farce and Ms Cole may find she has the bottom 2 again next week, unless Simon and Dermot do another on the spot rule change.

And its not like a 'one-off' bad performance.

Having said that, I actually CAN see her carry on for another 4 eliminations and for the simple reason there are other bad acts (or joke acts) to lose:

- She could stay against Aiden
- She could stay against Boy Band
- She could stay against Wagner
- She could (possibly) stay against Paige

But the OP ought not get too excited about this. Barely escaping elimination because the other weaker acts are 'slightly lower' is not a good sign.

btw.. Im not even sure she would stay against those listed but it is not entirely unrealistic depending a little on how they all progress (or not).

So yeah.. she could limp along for a few more weeks - but don't mistake that for 'climbing' the ranks.

The only one of those I could see her staying against really is Wagner. None of those acts have been in the bottom yet where as It'll be Katies 4th time next, the judges would have to take that into account if she were there again and up against decent singers who have never been in the bottom. Wagner excluded of course

I can't see Katie staying against Aiden

Not a chance, Louis would keep Aiden in. And like I said no matter who she's up against next bar Wagner she should go, 4 times in the bottom???? It would be a complete and utter farce if she stayed again

its already a complete and utter farce though.. Imagine one of them, Aiden or whoever messed up his sing off song and Katie did it OK.. that'd give them an excuse to save her???

Nah, I think last night was as far as they can go with it now. Like I said unless she's there with Wagner then they just couldn't send any other act, all of whom have never been in the bottom, home over an act whose been there 4 times

To be honest I thought both Mary and Paije were pretty dreadful. Can the producers please stop putting them near the start of the show or bloody well send fans energy shots so we don't fall asleep and miss summat good like Rebecca or Matt.

They were ******ing dreadful.

Good job Katie was saved at least she adds a bit of interest. I reckon that Paije or Mary would be struggling against Katie. She has the Xfactor, they have nothing other than an average singing voice.

I thought Paije was brilliant this week actually, he had loads of stage presence and sang very well, far far better than Katie. Mary was pretty bad though not as bad Katie, she absolutely murdered that song.

It's not spot on at all, having the X-Factor requires people to actually..........I dunno ..................like you atleast, bottom 2 3 times does not suggest that she is liked!

The public don't know what they are doing half the time.. so that's why we have Judges on the X factor to make sure the right person goes.. thank god they are there as well, God knows how this competition would have turned out otherwise

Well considering that it will be the public who actually buy the contestants music then I would say that they should have a very big say in who goes and who stays

But by then the public will have seen sense anyway.. they just need to see Katie a few more times on the live shows and then they will come around.. Simon knows what he is doing here, Very clever man.

I would need to see evidence of this. Is it not just standard practise for them to stand for the sing off rejects?

No it is standard practise for them to stand for the Act who has sang the most times throughout the Competition! :D

Louis was positive about Katie's Saturday performance, I am not sure what Simon was on about.

I think you can hear what you want to hear and there is so much bad feeling for Katie at the mo. that she is being knocked down even when she puts in a good performance vocally.

I like Aiden and One Direction but they seem to be getting bigged up and obvious errors are not commented on.

Katie was brutal on Saturday, she murdered that song.

As for Aiden, he's very hit and miss for me, sometimes he's awful but sometimes he's outstanding, One Direction are ok, they're not terrible but they're not fantastic either
