yep thanks che but showing your dissaproval of government poicy is kind of what democracy is all about. People has a RIGHT to protest, problem is most just sitt in front of their tellies moaning to themselves instead of beng politically active ( let alone politically aware).
Agree that violence is never the way to go but 99.9% of them look like they are standing around holding signs and banners while some anachists who probably don't even know what the demo is about have taken the opportunity to bust some windows.
The point is political activism isn't useless...sitting at home watching TV while toffs in suits make choices for....is.

I dont think anyone is critcising the protest, or their right to, it's the violent turn that it's taken which has shocked people.

Good to see some students from Bristol saying how appaled they were. We're a lot more civilised down in the South-west :p

On SkyNewsHD Live
they have Students shouting at each other.
Some want it to Burn Down
others do not.

They also showed a Fire Extinguisher
being chucked off the Roof onto the Crowd.

Livia 10-11-2010 02:59 PM

The Conservatives don't have the whole of Millbank Tower. Most of the building is occupied by people who have nothing to do with politics and are there working for a living. Now they're going to have to run the gauntlet of rent-a-mob just to get home tonight.

Yeah, the ones condemning it are making their point a lot more constructively, they're actually being rational about it.

They were right, there's a lot of them there who aren't even students, they're there with anarchists flags and stuff. The fir extinguisher that got thrown off the roof; that would have easily killed someone if it had hit anybody

lol "rent-a-mob" to describe people who want to make a difference.
Don't worry about those that need to "get home tonight", most of them have Sky Plus to record all the important stuff in their lives :P

Livia 10-11-2010 03:09 PM

Someone's let me know ange7 has replied to my post. Save your effort, I don't have any interest in what you've got to say which is why you're on ignore.

ummm I saw some people walk into a foyer. Most of the protesters were as meek as this.
I love how none of this thread has touched on what they are protesting about but instead on their behavior. Is it because you guys don't know or don't care?

Judas 10-11-2010 03:26 PM

Arista the points you are making are rubbish. You must remember this small 'anarchic' group is a minority - NOT THE MAJORITY.

Why should we pay more for our education?

How do you feel arista that your 'babe' David Cameron is saying today that tuiton fee's may be CHEAPER for international students? That includes the 'frogs'.

P.S I have read this forum for a while, hense I know most the debates political stance.

That's because the cause has kind of been overshadowed by this violence, and the thread is about the protest, not the cause.

But I did give my view on the first page: University is an investment in your future career, you cant expect to have your studies paid for all your life, if the benefit you get from your degree does not outweigh the cost then dont go
