Yeah I know.

Mind once its all over, the hype dies down pretty quick.

How the heck did Aiden only come 5th on Mad World week and 6th on Diamonds are Forever week? Must have been something about him alot of people didnt like (weird face movements etc.) because in terms of delivery they were 2 of the best performances on the whole show. Also I think Cheryl's and Simon's comments on certain weeks about his intensity really affected his image from the audience.

I mean Diamonds are Forever for me was the performance of the show. Every note was hit absolutely perfect and I am unsure any other contestant this year could have hit that final note of the song.

This annoys me, especially when Louis says it all the time. Would YOU vote for someone just because they were from england? Would you refrain from voting for someone because they were from Ireland? Of course you wouldnt.

Some might if a British person was competing in a foreign country. There have been British and Irish people on American Idol in the past, if British people could have voted I'm sure they would have attracted votes.

Also Irish and Scottish people seem more passionate about their country than the Brits.

As an Irish person here is my honest opinion on it. When an Irish person gets on one of these shows (X factor or BB) I always hope I will like them cos yeah I do want them to do well and they do, to a certain extent, represent the country in that particular show but I never vote for them just because they're Irish. Me wanting them to be good and them actually being good are two different things. And I can honestly say, hand on heart, that the only time my favourite was an Irish person and I actually voted for that person was Brian Dowling from BB and that was because he genuinely was my favourite. I thought Mary was good and I'm glad she did so well but she wasn't my favourite and I didn't vote for her, in fact out of the people I know here in r/l none of them voted for her or had her as their favourite.

Well theres me proven wrong then...didnt think people were petty enough to vote just based on where the acts come from...surely talent means something too?!

Joe lived like 10mins away from me and I supported Danyl, as did most other people from where I lived at the time

Well tbh, thats quite sad. Its not the country winning the show, its the contestants, and people should not get support based on where they are from.

Both Cher and Liam from OD are from near me,but I voted for who I thought best and that was Matt. The only time I ever voted like that was in BB1 with Craig but he was actually a friend so a bit different I think.

Blimey....i was so entrenched in Xfactor i missed Scottish independance.

And an answer to whether voting for a local makes sense....yes..nonsense.

And for those who vote for a nationality....its X-FACTOR not Eurovision. :nono:

I cant stand scousers, but Bex was my No1 from day 1.

Jords 15-12-2010 11:51 PM

Interesting, cheers for doing this James.

Wow 2008 and 2009 were much more all over the place. This time it seemed reasonably consistent with the voting.

Like in 08 Eoghan was number 1 until the very end then dipped to number 3 suddenly or Rachel in 09 was mostly in 10th then went number 1 for a week.
