He's always still as good. He just got addicted to meds, started happening after The Eminem Show (His last great album IMO) Gotta say Encore has some great songs on but as an album it's not great.

The real reason I think he sold out is cos of the people he worked with on his later albums. P!nk, Rihanna, Lil Wayne, I mean come on.

Green Day.

Thing is with Green Day, some people class them as sellouts with Dookie, some American Idiot. One of those bands where it's all perception

I liked Green Day years ago and I still like them now, changing a bit because it's a natural thing to do isn't selling out imo

InOne 02-01-2011 06:29 PM

Nah with Green Day in the early days it was different, it was do or die for them. After Dookie them Punk Community classes them as sellouts

they matured as a band and as people though. Don't forget that Billie Joe was 17 years of age when Greenday formed, obviously him and his music has changed massively since then

I have to agree. I like my Hip Hop gritty and hardcore. I'm not a fan of collaborations with popstars and songs with the rapper putting on some fake arabian accent so he can talk about smacking bitches arses and all that other filth around the time of Encore. But that's the way most Hip Hop's gone. I'm surprised the term Hip Pop has not entered use yet. Or Pop Hop or whatever. New Eminem I just find bland to be honest. Well done, you beat an addiction to every sleeping pill under the sun. I get it.

As for Green Day ... they didn't change their sound one bit. They are too shit for that. It's the same boring guitar chords arranged in slightly different orders only with more pretentious 'down with Bush, dudes!' lyrics. I can't listen to a band where every song sounds the exact same. They have spawned a small army of pretentious asshole teens like 30 Seconds To Mars have done too.
