Thanks for pointing out the obvious. This certainly is a thread about Cher.

My comment was about you mocking Sov’s career in the states. Just giving a few facts. I wasn’t asking you to listen to her music either so not sure why that was mentioned :conf:

A hell of a lot of people have very hard lives, with very troubled, difficult times and much trauma - with or without depression and with or without suicide attempts - Having a sob story doesn't make a person talented - and that includes Sov. Sad? Of course it is. Affected her success - debatable - talent is either there or it isn't. I favour the latter.

However, the thread has digressed a little only on the premise that there was comparison to Sov who Jay Z had signed and had very limited success with - and, from what I read from Patsy's posts, Pasty was offering her thoughts that she felt that Cher signing with Jay Z did not guarantee Cher any success - Sov being used as an example.

Who said anything about Sov having a hard life??? Only you it seems. I was just giving you a bit of background on why it all went tits-up for her in the US. So your little rant about others having a hard life is pointless.

Neither did i infer that her sob story made her talented. So not sure what you're on about there.

oh I didn't say she did, I was giving reasons that some people suffer from depression and resort to suicide attempts - and it's a red herring - talent is what matters . Read what is written - I said I'm not falling for any sob stories. I'm not ranting - I'm pointing out the very obvious to you. Sov didn't make it big in the States (or here for that matter) due to a serious lack of talent and nothing to do with her being depressed - which you appear to give consideration to in your comments a few posts down.

And as you said yourself in your last post - this thread is about Cher.

Might be an idea for everyone to stick to that.

I don't believe it can be used as an excuse for having no talent, without related talent, one can't have a career in the music industry.... that's what I think.

Does Cher have depression? :conf:

Is it affecting her 'career'? :conf:

if not, you seem quite determined to continue off topic despite your acknowledgment on a few posts ago that this thread is about Cher ..... ;)

You seem determined to link the depression to having a lack of talent. :conf:

The depression ballsed up her career in the US. IF she was in a better state mentally who knows how well she could have done.

You think she has no talent, Jay Z thought she did. I’d say he’s more clued up than the average bod sat in front of their laptop posting on a forum.

God knows why you’re asking if Cher has depression. Still, at least it’s kinda on topic.

If you want to continue discussing Sov, her lack of career her alleged talent (or lack of in some people's eyes) and her depression - might be an idea to start a new thread.....seeing as you still continue to keep this off topic.

Thread is about Cher.... just stating the obvious. ;)

Yes it is. Well it was until you and Patsy started discussing Sov.

Anyway, still no confirmation of Jay Z signing Cher. I reckon it's just a load of hot air.
